Interesting game between France and Brazil. De Colo went hot in the 4th, leading France in the comeback (-10 in the end of the 3rd quarter).

Today:

Russia - Lithuania 16h00 CEST
Australia - Brazil 19h30 CEST
Argentina - USA 21h30 CEST

wow...Russia is like 2 or 3 levels above our team it seems:rolleyes: It also seems like no one is trying or capable of defending pick'n'roll as well LOL. Looks like 5th place in the group will be just about right for this limited squad...

Lithuania got crushed by Russia 101-79. :(

The Russian refs were the worst refs I've ever seen. Three flagrant fouls, really?

And you're happy about that, you f*cking idiot?

Go drink yourself to death, you Lith hater .

Lithuania was tragic today, great disappointment! Their defense was bellow 0. The injury of Javtokas was very crucial for the defense end.

On the other hand Russian team looked ready for the challenge!

We will see, 7 days left!

in preparation games Lithuania never played good basketball. The most important are official games, which show the real team's power.

loss is a loss, but preparation games are meant for preparation, it is not a real contest. In this one Kemzura was still experimenting and rotating a lot, which would not be the case in a real game that matters. Refereeing was clearly one sided, but even if it wasn't, we would have lost. I hope this match was beneficial for our teem to do the last adjustments. Clearly, we have a problem with our front court, which was visible even with Javtokas on board. I liked Songaila though. Russia is strong. We knew it before. Question is, can LTU improve enough to have a close game with good chances to win against RUS in 1/4 as predicted by Gomelsky? I think and certainly hope - yes.

My concern as well. Javtokas has been a key cog in Lithuania's middle going back to 2001 in the days of coach Jonas Kazlauskas. Coaches Antanas Sireika, Ramūnas Butautas, Kęstutis Kemzūra have all liked him. And so does Arvydas Sabonis, now the president of the Lithuanian Basketball Federation.

Though apparently the starters rested, though I can't say why. That makes them 2-10 in prep games, both wins against Portugal.

But what changes could have been made that would have improved the team?
tr

the main change should be obvious - the head coach.
Can someone explain to me the reason why this team can't defend pick'n'roll at all? I don't remember NT ever having so much issues with this simple play. Also the rotations and game management suck too. This all falls on the shoulders of Kemzura and his coaching staff

Calm down! It's not London yet, it's preparation. If LTU doesn't advance to 1/4 finals as you predict, then - yes, Kemzura should go. But if we do, I expect you shut the f**k up!

France 78-74 Brasil

was a good match to us, Magnano played the bench a lot..

Huertas just 22 minutes, Larry Taylor 18 minutes, against 26 and 28 of De Colo and Parker.

Nene just 19 minutes, Splitter 15 (some 15 minutes to Giovannoni, and 5 to Torres)

today we plays against Australia, but this game will not broadcasted i think... French tv is very poor.
