Lithuanian NT 2016 Olympics

The team's lack of depth at the guard slots and lack of centers who can either hit the three or are mobile enough to defend the three while also protecting the rim are glaring weaknesses now. The team can only win if Coach Kazlauskas still has some sort of rabbit in reserve that he can pull out of his hat like he's done in previous years.

:(

And what the hell has gone wrong with Lithuania's rebounding? Spain and Croatia savaged the team on the boards these last two games. And Lithuania winning the battle of the boards is something on which we could always count. Lithuania's traditional bugaboo has instead been turnovers, the old big clumsy white man stereotype.

Lithuania fucked up by all means last 2 games, rebounding included. Toughness and intensity wasn't there. Well white man has nothing to do with turnovers. 4 of 8 best PGs of all time are white in Stockton, Nash, Bob Cousy, Jason Kidd. It's simply Lithuanian tradition :)

I just wonder where's MadMax... I has to be coach fault that JV is so lost on court.

Somehow I have feeling that Lithuania wins that game. You guys always overachieve in a right place. Have you ever fail in any tournament?!

You're right we struggled last year in European Championship group stage, each game was tough and then a loss to Belgium but we still managed to get trough Italian stars and then Serbia.

I believe in our guys of course Maciulis Seibutis Kalnietis Jankunas have seen enough of hot and cold but one thing that really worries me is JV's performance if he won't step up today Baynes Bogut will have a points party.

Not once or twice

1999 - 1/4 loss vs still quite average Spain with Sabas, Karnisovas, Einikis + Zalgiris crew which just won Euroleague. After group stage we were considered favorites to win it all
2001 - another fail, losing in 1/8 vs Latvia, while coming to tournament after 2000 Olympics bronze. Some preparation fails to blame mostly, who the fck organizes friendlies in South America before Eurobasket...
2004 - perfect game and perfect tournament, just to lose in semifinal against Italy... IMO biggest loss in our bball history, Olympic final and maybe gold was just one step away
2009 - another big fail. Thank you Butautas
2011 - losing against McCalebbdonia in 1/4 at home

Yeah, I was there. Whole country just stopped. It was hard to get even pizza after that game because everybody had zero motivation to anything so making pizza to drunken Finn wasn't first thing to do.

Seriously. You guys are winners and every winner fall once in a while. You have always got up (unlike f.e Croatia).

I would add 2012 OG and elimination in 4finals as well. One could say that team just got what they objectively deserved, blah blah blah, but at the end of the day it was first fall out of the semis in Olympics and horrible performance overall. These Olympics already better because we beat Argentina, Brazil. In 2012 we couldn't beat one solid team.

Yeah, that was quite a shock, I mean I even didn't expect us to win medal back then, Spain, France, Russia looked just too much to handle for our team which was goin' throught generations change, but losing in 1/4 vs FYROM and putting our Olympic hopes in jeopardy was surely huge dissapoitnment. Luckily we managed to get ourselves togehter, finish 5th and get the ticket to OQT, then London.

Thnx for encouraging words, I guess we need that now :) But tbh, making play-offs is what I was expecting from this NT this summer. I thought semis or if we would win a medal, that would be amazing. I just thought France or Serbia might be too hard nut to crack in 1/4, and now we have Australia... I'd be happy about such rival couple of weeks ago, but what I thought about them before Olympics and now are two different things, they proved to be great force when Bogut is there and Mills/Delly in decent shape. It'll be hard, very hard, but that would be greatest birthday gift I could imagine :)

Thank you! We'll look for a way to get you that pizza if we win today!

The assholes from the Greek national tv decided NOT to show this game.
Would any of you gentlemen provide a link ? Preferably English speaking.
