and what do u want to see in these numbers? Even Delininkaitis played in absolutely different position, which is not comparable with Vidutenivicius' position, we can see that Vidas didn't make more better statistics

All, except Delininkaitis, were starting PG's. Delininkaitis played some PG, while all others pleyed some SG (Maceina with Cesnauskis, Gustas with Valeiko, Gaidamavicius with Mazutis, Ginevicius with Cota/Anderson)
And Ginevicius was better than Delininkaitis in 8 cases from 10.

I don't remember when Delininkaitis played PG.. and if he played - Vidutinevicius statistics might be better (but as we can se not a lot), because Delininkaitis played in stronger team with more individual stronger players.

very solid post this one indeed.. :/
I mean, very objective and practically impossible to challenge..

yeah, I agree with u :) very solid post indeed...

anyway, I even don't want to compare them. Sireika will decide everything in a month. If they will play their average, I would prefer none of them in a team :) But I hope they'll do thier best :D

Songaila IN
Macijauskas IN
Jasikevicius OUT

OK, thats a start!! 2/3 not bad. Anyone heard about Kleiza yet?

he's 100% in

atleast i hope that the team will look like this:

PG: Maceina, Pakamanis
SG: Siskauskas, Macijauskas, Seibutis
SF: Jasaitis, Kleiza (sorry Zukauskas)
PF: Jankunas, Songaila, Lavrinovic
C: Javtokas, Lavrinovic

except the PG spot, the team is amazing, imho we're definetly going for medals to say the least

well I dont think that team will look like u said..
Maceina is not even invited to the camp.

imho PG will be Ginevicius, Gustas
SG, SF - Siskauskas, Macijauskas, Jasaitis, Lukauskis, Seibutis
PF,C - Zukauskas (because of experience and because Sireika likes him a lot), Songaila, 2x Lavrinovic, Javtokas

Pakamanis and Delininkaitis can push out somebody from PG spot, but I doubt. And Sireika won't take 3 low-level PG's for sure.

Siska, Macas, Jasaitis - obvious that they will go.
D and K Lavrinovic and Javtokas - too.

more questions we have about Zukauskas/Jankunas/Songaila/Kleiza participation. Kleiza can be "black horse" and Sireika don't like Songaila, or do not know how to exhaust him on the court. Zukauskas can go to do nice farewell. But Jankunas can take his position if he will show much better form. however, two of them will go.

Seibutis/Lukauskis/Delininkaitis are another question. if Sireika decides to have 6 high players in the team, only one of them will go (most-likely Lukauskis because of some experience). this is real scenario, if none of these three players won't show WC-level form.

Serapinas, Kalnietis, Jomantas and Maciulis - they are 13th players, one of them can show miracle.. bet yra taciau :) they won't. :)

conclusion: we will be favourites and main pretenders to the medals as always, but this time with good team spirit we will take it. :)

He is invited to the very first camp, that starts, emm.. today??

Delininkaitis is always claiming, that he is not a PG, so I can't agree, that he may go to WC as a player of this position. Well, maybe as a third PG option.
Siska, Macas, Jasaitis - obvious that they will go.
D and K Lavrinovic and Javtokas - too.
I wouldn't be sure about the bolded one, as he has some problems with his tarsus. I know, that he wants to participate, but his health problems might be an obstacle. It was the reason, why he didn't go to Serbia and Montenegro last year, this year he might not visit Japan because of this.

Jankūnas might have an summer-off because of the NBA draft and all the approaches to get to NBA. Žukauskas will be in - that's sure. The captain of the team cannot be forced to go out of it after the camps. He has to retire by himself.

Javtokas is also questionable. If he is planning to sign with the Spurs (that looks more likable, as Mazr Mohammed rejected to extend his contract few days ago), then he might sink in all transition procedures and might get back too late.

The candidates to the Lithuanian national team, who started the ten-day long preparing cycle will go to to the first friendly tournament in Italy on Monday (06.19). The players will meet Czech republyc, Venesuela and Italy in the town of Rieti. The team will be coached by Valdemaras Chomičius.

The coach has been working with the young players for a week and he is glad to see their enthusiasm. "I like them a lot. There are no talks. All of them are completing their tasks 100%. Men are working without reserving any forces." - the coach said to www.rinktine.lt

The training process is observed by the head coach of A.Sireika. The coaching board has decided, that Giedrius Gustas, Tomas Delininkaitis and Marijonas Petravičius won't go to Italy and they will join the main camp of the team, which will start on 25th of June.

"G.Gustas, T.Delininkaitis and M.Petravičius has enough of playing time in their clubs. What will we win, if they will have some playing practice in Italy? We have players, that have to be checked in the international game, to see how they react to the various situations on the court," - V.Chomičius said.

When asked, how the players from U.S. universities adapt to the lithuanian style of the game, the coach cleared out that the training process started with the precising of the fast breaks, so there are no big problems.

"As we have not so many schemes, there is no difference, which country the player was playing in"

According to V.Chomičius, in the tournament in Italy the main goal of the national team is to check the players, but the coach always wants to win, so the teem will be seeking for victories.

Twelve players are going to Italy, and they will be managed by V.Chomičius, R.Kuncaitis and A.Kosauskas.

The players:

Guards:
Vytenis Jasikevičius
Darius Pakamanis
Gediminas Maceina

Forwards:
Stepas Babrauskas
Artūras Jomantas
Aurimas Kieža
Jonas Mačiulis
Vladimiras Severovas
Valdas Vosylius

Centers:
Darius Šilinskis

Which means that players participating in main camp are:

Robertas Javtokas
Marijonas Petravičius
Kšyštofas Lavrinovičius
Darjušas Lavrinovičius
Darius Songaila
Paulius Jankūnas
Linas Kleiza
Mindaugas Žukauskas
Andrius Šležas
Simas Jasaitis
Simonas Serapinas
Reinaldas Seibutis
Ramūnas Šiškauskas
Mindaugas Lukauskis
Arvydas Macijauskas
Tomas Delininkaitis
Giedrius Gustas
Vidas Ginevičius

Andrius Šležas wasn't on the primary list of players who are invited to the main camp. When he got the invitation? i assume that it could happent just after he was recognized as an MVP of the LKL finals. Somehow I missed the official message.

Another thing to mention is about Vidas Ginevičius. He has suffered a big shock last week as his son Domas, who was born in the beginning of May has died. It is really hard to concentrate after such events.

You are right about that. I don't think there was official message, just like with addition of Maceina and Lydeka

Yes, Šležas was invited after LKL final.

Lithuanian NT leaves for a friendly tournament in Italy, where they are going to play with Czech, Venezuela and Italy. Roster for this tournament,

Guards
Vytenis Jasikevičius,
Darius Pakamanis,
Gediminas Maceina

Forwards
Stepas Babrauskas,
Artūras Jomantas,
Aurimas Kieža,
Jonas Mačiulis,
Vladimiras Severovas,
Valdas Vasylius

Centers
Darius Šilinskis,
Tautvydas Lydeka,
Pavelas Čukinas

I think Jasikevičius, Mačiulis, Lydeka and Čiukinas will be the main players of this NT.

whois Lydeka??:)

i think Jomantas, Kieza, Maciulis and Ciukinas will be main players. Jasikevicius? he is too young. Pakamanis? too slow. Maceina? maybe.

Tautvydas Lydeka played in Ukraine this year. Actually I haven't seen him playing, but his stats were crazy. He is definately better than Ciukinas or Silinskis, and he is only 22 years old.

http://eurobasket.lt/?news.id.15465

At the moment I can't find any information about his stats, but I'll keep searching. ;-)

Lithuania won the first game of tounament against Czech 80:76 (25:20, 15:23, 20:15, 18:20). In the middle of 2nd quarter Tautvydas Lydeka broke the board, so the game had to be stoped for a while. :)

J.Mačiulis 25, G.Maceina 12, A.Jomantas 11, P.Čiukinas 9, S.Babrauskas 8, V.Severovas 4, D.Pakamanis, V.Vosylius and T.Lydeka 3, V. Jasikevičius – 2.
