Ok. He has to get out of Cleveland for one, he carried the worst team in NBA to finals. Without him that team is lottery. He needs to even the field.
Durant struck by joining best team IN NBA, 73 win team. Lebron best chance is join his one competition in east that is Boston Celtics. He would make that 55 win team to 65 win team.Easily get to NBA finals, and have much better equipped team to face The Warriors.

He’s going to the Lakers with Paul George. The only question is whether they keep the young core of Ball, Ingram, Kuzma, and resign Randle or if they trade some of those pieces and add a third star to LeBron and George. The third piece would be most likely Chris Paul or a much lesser chance Kawhi Leonard.

I think Lakers is just a name thrown, a big name. But Lebron wants to fight for championships, LA dont have that . Phoenix Suns makes better sense then LA, you have Devin Booker on 3 m contract, and his best friend James Jones as Vice President of that team.

However, best option is Boston.

The Lakers actually have the most important and necessary pieces in order to attract LeBron.
Firstly it’s Los Angeles. Cities like Los Angeles or Miami play a role to where a guy wants to live and play as opposed to places like San Antonio. That’s reality and it’s a factor.

Secondly they have the most cap space available thereby allowing the most flexibility in molding and shaping the roster.
For example you can bring 2 superstars in and even a third because of reason number 3.

Thirdly they have young pieces like Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma and Julius Randle if they choose to resign him that can allow you to trade for another huge star.

Combine the three and I make Los Angeles the overwhelming favorite to sign LeBron.

You can forget Boston. Yeah Lebron loves coach Stevens and they have a lot of talent. You would have to trade Kyrie which wouldn’t be difficult but there is no chance LeBron is moving his family and playing in the town of Boston. That’s just the reality of it. The next African American superstar that signs as a free agent for the Celtics will be the first one. It has a history of being viewed as a racist town that goes back decades. It’s the same reason Kyrie Irving will not resign there after next year and will walk.

You can throw all that out except the last two. Philly only other potential landing spot. Again he would be bringing Paul George with him there or another star.

My best Options

1 - Boston Celtics ( Kyrie - Tatum - Lebron - Brown - Horford, Lebron would pull chris paul Cavs get Hayward + picks + Morris).
2 - Spurs ( with Kawhi Leonard and Aldridge frontcourt + popovich as coach)
3 - Philadelphia ( with paul george or kawhi going there to form big four simmons lebron embiid george or kawhi).

You do understand that due to the falling out he will never play with Kyrie Irving again. There’s no trust there, that shipped has sailed and it goes both ways.

He’s not going to the Spurs either. Like I said you have to factor in the city we are talking about. It’s just the reality of the situation.

I think championship factor will be biggest. Lebron wants rings. He has maximum 5 years of play, where he lives will come after 5 years.
If he goes to LA, he is done winning rings. Not with overrated George. You aint beating warriors.

Lakers. 80%
76ers. 15%

Knicks and Heat combined 5%
This is not going to happen but I’ll give them a combined one in twenty chance if some miracle occurred and they somehow reshaped their roster and making it enticing.

Not true. He even mentioned it in his post game. For him it’s about his family and the age of his kids. His oldest will be entering high school and I can guarantee you that won’t be happening in Boston. He said that this free agency is different than in 2010 and 2014 mainly because of his family. He knows he will be 34 next year and by all indications he wants to play off the ball a lot thereby prolonging the prime of his career. That means playing with Lonzo Ball/ Ben Simmons or Chris Paul somewhere.

You are looking at it purely as a fan and not taking into consideration other factors that will play a huge role. I think that a team of LeBron, Paul George, and or Chris Paul/Kawhi Leonard with some of the young pieces that LA has can definitely challenge the Warriors. The Warriors will enter a different stage now that they have repeated. Continuing that success now becomes even harder because the drive and motivation is not as high as it was before.

This team:

Chris Paul
Paul George
Kyle Kuzma
LeBron James
Julius Randle

You deal Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram in sign and trade.

Or this team:

Lonzo Ball
Kawhi Leonard
Paul George
LeBron James
Whoever

You deal Kyle Kuzma, Brandon Ingram, and Julius Randle (after signing him) in sign and trade.

Can beat anyone.

A big mistake would be underestimating the value of the Lakers young pieces. Ball, Ingram, Kuzma, and Randle can all get you back something really big in return.

Right now best players in NBA imo ranked.

1 LeBron James.
2/3/4/5 Kevin Durant - Stephen Curry - James Harden - Anthony Davis.

6 Russell Westbrook
7 Giannis Antetokounmpo
8 Kyrie Irving
9 Joel Embiid
10 Damian Lillard

Lebron needs one of those next to him.Because Warriors have 2nd and 3rd best players, plus another 2 top 20 players ( Green - Klay). And Iguodola top defender.
I just hope Lebron dont end up in LAKERS with some Kevin Love.

I like and agree with your top 7 but I would throw in Kawhi Leonard despite the injury concerns somewhere in the top 8 and then you draw the line there. Because after that the next level of 10 or so players is clearly inferior in abilities to those top 7 + Leonard.

So NBA has 7 true superstars, OK 8 with Kawhi. I mean after that is Irving and I barely can treat him as superstar.

That Lakers team wouldn't work. Too many players who need the ball in their hands.

A healthy Kawhi is better than KD. Easily. Second only to LeBron. Same with Giannis. And Dame is far superior to Kyrie. Kyrie and KD belong at the bottom of that list.

Everybody wants LeBron to go to the Lakers and be joined by Paul George but to me it doesn't make sense. Throw in Kawhi and it definitely doesn't work.

To me it's Cleveland or Philly. Especially because the alternative would mean he'd have to go through Golden State before the Finals.

If the Spurs are smart, they trade Kawhi by draft night.

Irving is superstar for me.I saw all i need to see this season, how important he is. He masked how Cavaliers are lottery team without him and Lebron. It was 2 man army, just surround this 2 man army with better talent ala Boston. Game 5 2016 , they each scored 41 points. Total 82 points. To bring Cavs from down 3 - 1. Its unbelievable how garbage the rest of roster was.

How was Cleveland in the lottery without him ? They went to the finals this year without Kyrie. And Boston made it to game 7 of the east finals without him as well. He's a good player but not on that level. Just remember what Cleveland was with him in four years in Cleveland without LeBron. Or last year's finals when LeBron came off the court for a couple minute breather and the games flipped every single time. He's a good player but has a lot to prove to be called a superstar. Being the second best player on a championship team doesn't make you that. How about finishing in the top 5 in the MVP voting or making at least a first or second team all NBA once.

I wouldn't say that. I think only Lakers fans really want that. I am just talking about the reality of the situation.

Please. Boston was far better without him because guys were actually getting the ball for a change.

He's good but he's no superstar. Cleveland just had nobody to replace him because he played two positions being a combo guard.

Do you have any idea how easy it is to put up numbers when you dominate the ball every possession for 30+ minutes a game? And yet he's one of the least efficient scorers in the game and needs to get away with carries, travels, and pushoffs near constantly. That's a superstar? Hell no. Not to me.

He was the focal point of the offense in Cleveland for six years and held back all of his teammates until LeBron came in and acted as the adult superceding Kyrie's severely inflated ego. You don't replace the focal point of your offense right away or easily.
