Today the winner btw Lebanon vs Samoa will go to World Rugby championship in Sydney next year.
Lebanon and before game Samao defeat Wales 50-26.
Samoa have one of the best rugby leagues as i know.
For all the lebanese, you can watch the game on Show Sport 1 and 2.
And SkySport.

Good luck for Lebanon !

Lebanon go into Wednesday night’s Rugby League World Cup Qualifying Final at Featherstone, England, knowing that victory over Samoa could see them hit the jackpot in Australia.

They qualified for the Final and the right to play Samoa for the tenth and remaining qualification place in the 2008 Rugby League World Cup Finals in Australia after an impressive 50-26 semi-final win over Wales at Widnes on Friday night.

Team manager George Elias said: “We have fantastic support not just from the Lebanon but from the sizeable Lebanese community in Australia.

“And if we do beat Samoa we would going into next year’s Finals in Australia confident that we would have the second biggest support in the competition”.

The Lebanese produced a performance of rare quality against the Welsh and left the Dragons shell shocked after a power-packed second half that saw them turn a 16-10 deficit around.

Elias added: “It was our best ever performance with not only the quality of the Rugby League we played in that second half but also from the passion the team generated.

“We had been very disappointed not to gain automatic qualification when we drew with Ireland a week earlier but we’d also had to cope with a serious injury situation and the struggle to put together a team to play Wales”.

And Elias believes that the emergence of the Lebanese team as a significant force is a positive force for Rugby League internationally.

“We’re trying to spread the game of Rugby League globally and our progress must certainly help that ambition”.

Lebanon, who had to draft three new players into their squad during last week to replace players who had been injured or had to return to Australia for business reasons, do not expect to recruit more players before Wednesday’s encounter with Samoa, who beat the United States Tomahawks 42-10 in their semi-final.

Elias added: “I’m not aware of anybody going home this time. But we do have several injuries that we’ll have to look at closely in the aftermath of today’s game.

“Not many people may have noticed but we played for most of the semi-finals with just 14 players because we had additional problems during the game”.

Lebanese captain and halfback George Ndaira, who will be joining Sydney Roosters in 2008, was equally delighted with his team’s victory over Wales.

After the game he said: “It was a great backs-to-wall performance when you consider that at one stage during the week we weren’t sure whether we’d be able to put a team out against Wales.

“It was a great team effort. We felt at halftime that we were still in the game and everybody went to work for each other. We just didn’t give in

I'm a little surprised that the Lebanese play rugby. I don't know why I'm surprised, because there is a stereotype that people from that region of the world are really burly and big. I'm not surprised that Samoans play. I think I read that Samoa has more NFL players in the league per capita than any other state or country.

Filipinos have rugby NT. Mostly, which composing are Fil-Aussie players... But I don't have any updates. I remember we crushed Indian NT.

hehe anywayz leb NT lost this game ! 38-16
Congrats for Samoa and better luck for Lebanon in the future.

Daniab is talking about Rugby League not Rugby.... Rugby World Cup was already finished last year in France... the next one is 2011 in New Zealand...

Daniab is talking about the Rugby league World Cup.... in which Lebanon have a team... probably the best in Asia...

If we're talking about rugby (as in rugby uinion), the best is Japan...

Samoa, on the other hand, got some players playing in the Australian National Rugby League (NRL), the world's toughest rugby league championship... so its no surprise they win this one...

I wonder if Lebanese players are playing in the European Super League or in the NRL...

About the Philippines... the Philippines has only have a national rugby union team... known as the Philippine Volcanoes (PRFU) and have more than a dozen rugby union clubs around the country... Philippines doesn't have any rugby league team or clubs...

Wow! you guys trash Russia :D 48-0 .... The results for the last four games are good enough to be in the World Cup but since the game against the Samoa is the deciding game... its all good... I think Lebanon got a good future in this game and might take the lead to promote rugby league in the Middle East and in the whole Asia...

Although, International Rugby League is not as develop as other sports have such as the IRB, FIBA or FIFA...

Just wanna ask... I'm watching the Australian NRL... if any known Lebanese players playing for Australian clubs?

George Ndaira is playing for my favourite team South Sydney Rabbitohs and a teammate of Filipino-Australian Craig Wing this year :)

Ali Kourouche plays for Cronulla Sharks.... I research about Lebanese players... heres the line-up:

[FONT=verdana,arial]Full squad (alphabetical order):
Jad Abinassif (AUB – half back)
Jai Ayoub (Bulldogs - half back)
Daniel Chiha (North Sydney – centre/2nd Row)
Khalid Deeb (Newtown Jets – 2nd row)
Youssef El Helou (Club Libanais – lock)
Samer El Masri (Parramatta – five-eighth/fullback)
Adham El-Zbaidieh (South Sydney – wing)
Anthony Farah (Parramatta – five-eighth)
Rudy Hachache (LAU – front row/2nd row)
Gilbert Haydamous (Balamand – wing)
Charles Farah (Bulldogs – front row)
John Koborsi (Bulldogs – 2nd row/centre)
Ali Kourouche (Cronulla – 2nd row/front row)
Mohammed Amin Maassarani (Balamand – front row)
George Ndaira (South Sydney Rabbitohs – hooker)

Chris Salem (Sydney Bulls – centre/wing)
Frank Samia (Western Suburbs – centre)

No problem :) ... I love watching rugby league and before I did the research about the Lebanese players... I always thought they're playing in the European Super League but it turns out that they're playing where the NRL.... I think Lebanon have a good future in rugby league as long as those guys willing to play for your country... and Lebanon continue to send players to elite competitions such as the Australian National Rugby League (NRL) and the European Super League...

It would be good for the Lebanese league as well when some of those players return to play later on in their career.... it helps develop the standard of the league...
