Balanced scoring and a patient half-court set up gets Incheon ET Land Elephant a 2-0 lead over the Samsung Thunder. Incheon winning tonight 70-50 as Samsung played much worst compared to game 1.

Incheon winning by a margin last night as Incheon swept Samsung. The veterans gets their well deserved rest as they open the series against Ulsan Mobis Phoebus in April 02. Moon Tae-Young vs. Moon Tae-Young in this side of the quarter finals.

While Anyang KGC is holding on to a 2-1 advantage over the Orions. No KBL team in this season is as plagued with injuries than the defending KBL champions. Already without Oh Sek-Eun, Anyang lost Lee Chil-Woo, Kim Il-Du while Lee Jung-Hyun, Kim Tae-Sol and Yang Hee Jong are all playing with injuries.

Series is currently tied at 2-2 for Anyang - Goyang. The Orions have the momentum going into game 5 as injuries are proving to be the bane of the defending champions.

Anyang KGC played that is befitting their lofty status: defending champions. They won a passionate victory against the Goyang Orions tonight, 78-69. In four quarters, we saw the heroics of Lee Jung-Hyun and Juan Patillo supported by the zeal of Kim Tae-Sol and Yang Hee-Jong to preserve this very hard fought victory.

The defending KBL champions will advance into the semi-finals. Awaiting them are the regular season champions, Seoul SK Knights.

As expected, Seoul SK Knights took game 1 over Anyang KGC. We saw a very focused SK team that utilized a 3-2 switch zone instead of their 3-2 drop zone the fueled their running game. Tempo control and proper timing seal in the straight paint somewhat limited the high scoring Juan Patillo. Aaron Haynes played tremendous and was on target. He was also very committed on the defense with 19 rebounds. It is that inverse prop instances in the offense that gave SK a lot of high percentage shots.

Meanwhile, Moon Tae-Young and his Ulsan team got the better of Moon Tae-Jong and Incheon as Ulsan took game 1. Moon TY outplayed Moon TJ in the game where the latter was on target and contributed to the defense. There were times where both teams deferred to their imports for some heavy paint action with Ulsan feeding Ratliffe and Incheon with Powell.

Anyang KGC held off SK's 4th quarter rally to stun the Knights 70-63 in game 2. Rookie Choi Hyun-Min stepped up as he was clutch in this pivotal game where the rookie scored 20 points as the defending champions equals the series at one a piece. Lee Jung-Hyun came through the stretch and scored 15 points.

For SK, Kim Sun-Hyung lead them with 18 points.

Ulsan took a 2-0 lead over Incheon as their firepower was just too much for the seemly old legs of Incheon. We seen Ham Ji-Hoon being proactive with pinpoint passing that feeds Benson, Moon, Yang and Kim as starters. Kim Si-Rae played like Yang Dong-Geun and it seems benefited from the tutelage for his rookie season.

Kim Sun-Hyung lifting Seoul SK Knights by scoring 30 points in game 3 to lead SK over Anyang KGC 88-73. SK owned the first three quarters where they outscored KGC.

Ulsan sweeps Incheon 3-0 with a 90-84 win tonight.

Ulsan advances into the KBL 2013 Finals and awaits the winner of the Seoul - Anyang series. Moon Tae-Young makes his first ever finals while the Moon Tae-Jong era ends in Incheon. Kang Hyuk, will also retire from Incheon so a new Incheon is expected for next season.

Seoul SK Knights booked a trip to the KBL finals by winning tonight and eliminating the reigning champions, Anyang KGC 62-56. Aaron Haynes poured in 27 points while Kim Min-Soo and Kim Sun-Hyung were all clutch to fend off KGC's responses.

Kim Tae-Sol lead KGC with 15 points. SK will face Ulsan Mobis Phoebus in the finals. Game 1 is on April 09, 2013.

Anyang KGC head coach stated in the post game interview that he and his team went down fighting and refused to acknowledge injuries as the main reason. Lee said that next season, expect great as they welcome back their stalwarts like MVP Oh Sek-Eun.

To think Moon Tae-Young and Aaron Haynes were teammates over a season ago with Changwon, but both as teammates could achieve nothing as the Sakers were in turmoil. A season later, Haynes finds himself playing the best basketball of his career while Moon still does he does albeit with better talent around him.

Both have better FG% through proper utilization by their respective coaches and in operation with their respective teams. Haynes operates in the short corners with better scoring opportunities as he learned how beneficial it is to be the recipient of a timed lob after the latter sets a down screen when SK stacks their zone press formation. When Haynes does find himself in an isolation sequence, the likes of Kim Sun-Hyung alerts themselves to be active backdoor cutters while bigmen like Kim Min-Soo automatically sets an up screen to open a driving lane for Haynes.

As for Moon, better talent around him like crisp passing bigman Ham Ji-Hoon and pinpoint passer Yang Dong-Geun gets him the ball when Moon cuts after a time seal. That works in his favor as he no longer needs to isolate heavily just to score. Moon's teammates are also smart cutters where they establish position not on the blind spots but on the triple threat field of vision. This culminates Ulsan's mid baseliness press / shuffle that always involves Ham Ji-Hoon as a feed post.

With the Sakers, both kind of negated each other as they find their teammates innately stand around in the instance of either of them gets the ball. They had good chemistry with a two man game, but obviously, the Sakers needed more than a two man play to challenge for the playoffs. Kim Jin's triangle placed an emphasis with a post presence in last season. That role fell to the retired Seo Jang-Hoon and Song Chang-Moo. Haynes and Moon would complete the troika as either are situated in the far high opposite or far opposite. That lead to a dead space in the weak side of the offense where two players just stood there in the arc. In case the defense converged, the center would make a risky pass to the outer panes of the triangle and either Haynes or Moon find themselves in the ball possession just by the three point line. That leads an isolation play or if the center does draw up an up screen, both will still have to go hard just to make a field goal. Late last season, both settled for too many long shots as the opposing teams learned to trap the post and settle a two man probe in order to counter a quick attack.

If we go back two seasons ago, Moon was still with the Sakers and Haynes with the lowly Samsung, both have a tendency to shoot it out in an entertaining fashion. As the Ulsan - Seoul SK series opens for the championship, both have the luxury of displaying their all around skillsets other than to score.

Lee Jung-Hyun (Anyang KGC) signed up for the Military sports team alongside Jung Chang-Young (Changwon LG Sakers), Kim Dong-Hworyang (Ulsan Mobis) and others.

Ulsan Mobis Phoebus came charging back and stuns SK Knights 76-71 to take game 1 of the KBL Finals.

In the first quarter, SK's running game exposed Ulsan's transition defense where every Ulsan miss would translate into an uptempo surge as pressure for Ulsan. In the second quarter, SK could not rebound and Ulsan was getting hustle points thanks to Rod Benson.

3rd and 4th quarter saw SK's defense humbled by Ulsan's resiliency where the likes of Park Jeong-Chun helped chipped away at SK's lead. 2 minutes remaining and tied at 69 all, that is when Ulsan took over the game with a Yang Dong-Geun three put an exclamation mark on SK's defensive collapse.

SK was pretty much carried by Aaron Haynes and Courtney Sims as the locals played below their usual rate. While Ulsan played better as a team thanks to Yang Dong-Geun and Kim Si-Rae. Moon Tae-Young finished with just 15 points but helped Ulsan with his rebounding.

Ulsan takes a commanding 2-0 lead over SK Knights last night with a close victory 60-58. Ulsan's veteran players are better in closing out games while their imports are focusing on rebounding and defense.

Terribly one-sided officiating and a ton of flopping got me fouled out, but we still won! NOW we get to play some home games up 2-0 in the best of seven. #aintevenclosetofinished

@giant_ginger_giraffe aww you so niiice. Now that I live in Hollywood we can get into so much trouble

Ulsan winning at home last night 68-62. Both teams not forcing the tempo and rigorously went half-court in pacing. What SK does not realize is that Ulsan is a much better half-court team as SK is not using their drop zone coverage that fuels their pressure offense on which Kim Sun-Hyung was brilliant all season long. Still, Rod Benson helps control the paint for Ulsan.

Love the way Yang Dong-Geun and Kim Si-Rae are getting into the paint. One more and it is a sweep.

Yang Dong-Geun saved the best performance for last and Ulsan Mobis Phoebus has reclaimed the KBL championship. I am happy for Moon Tae-Young and Rod Benson; former Sakers.

SK just lost heart while Ulsan kept up the pressure.
