Sotto’s competition in the roster are DJ Wilson (former 17th pick overall and a 4-year NBA veteran) and Robert Baker (2-year GLeague veteran).

The three youngest in the roster are Orlando’s draft picks; Anthony Black, Jett Howard and Caleb Houstan.

and are all 5 players you mentioned below competing for just that 1 spot ?

I will post my replies on this thread but I won't argue with the other side.haha I will just enjoy Kai's journey.

Players selected in the first round of the NBA draft are given four-year contracts. Only the first two years of the deal are fully guaranteed with the team having options for the third and fourth years.

The magic drafted Anthony Black at No. 6 and Michigan wing Jett Howard and No. 11. Both will earn a guaranteed amount of $4,990,000 and $3,462,000.

What is a two-way contract?
In the NBA, a "two-way contract" is a relatively new option that allows developing players to simultaneously be rostered on an NBA team and its G League affiliate. Each NBA team 3 two way for next season.

There are also limitations to being a two-way player. Only players with three or fewer years of NBA service are eligible for two-way contracts. Meaning just reserved for very young players and not intended for older and veteran players.

Apr 1, 2023 — The NBA and NBPA have agreed to create a third Two-Way contract for every team as part of its next collective bargaining agreement.
What is an Exhibit 10 contract?

An Exhibit 10 contract is a one-year, minimum salary contract with no other bonuses. The Exhibit 10 attachment gives NBA teams the ability to convert the contract into a Two-Way deal, but only if they do it before the start of the regular season.

They are usually non-guaranteed, allowing teams to waive the player without taking a cap hit. In that situation, the player would earn a bonus of between $5,000 to $50,000 if they remain with the team's G League affiliate for 60 days.

Exhibit 10s are handy to teams for a couple of reasons. For one, they allow the flexibility to either retain the player on a minimum deal or convert the contract to a Two-Way depending on their performance. They also allow for the player to be waived at no cap penalty if the team isn't sold on their potential.

Kai is the only legit center on the Magic SL roster.

KAI KOMING, TWO WAYS?!?!!

at least 2 (two) slots of Two-way contracts for ORLANDO... Hopefully both KS and Wasserman can do some MAGIC!

odds are supper stacked for that to happen (secure 2 way contract) , 1 two way has been used on Harris, they have a 2nd round draft pick this year, and the two 2 ways last year would likely be prioritised to extend

DAdmiral, what do you think would be the implication of the new NBA-CBA to Kai's chances making the NBA , i.e. additional slot for 2 way contracts

edit: oops you already answered this in your previous post, nevermind..

-Teams will be able to sign three two-way players instead of two.

an extra 2 way will always help... but you still have to see what it really means in Kai's context . cause essentially it's simply a change from like 4 draft picks (2 every year) competing for 2 two ways , it's improved to 3 for the 4 or 5 draft picks and it's less chance for Kai's situation cause 1 he is not a draft pick (not drafted ) and 2nd his draft year was last year . (they prioritise 2 ways on incoming draft entrants , not previous years) .. so in pecking order Kai is really down in the waiting list

The second-rounder that Analyze mentioned has a guaranteed contract for next season so he won't take that 2 way contract.
Sotto and Baker II will anchor the Magic’s frontline along with five-year veteran D.J. Wilson, Milwaukee’s 17th overall pick in 2017. Wilson won't be eligible for two-way because he is already a 5year veteran. ORL needs a center after not resigning Moritz Wagner.

Kai is also the 4th youngest in this SL roster and the other 3 will have guaranteed contracts. Kai could fight for that Goga spot if ever he will be signed as a two-way player. Goga is ORL backup center and they would need a 3rd center. If Kai will be a two-way, he should aim to supplant Goga as the 2nd center.

LOL people are talking like Orlando can only choose among it SL players to complete their roster when in reality they can sign any player who be be left unsigned by the other teams. Players not only from the SL but the G-League as well.

Hundreds of players to choose from. But whatever, enjoy the fantasy while it lasts.
