Being from Ateneo has nothing to do with it.​ I'm not shallow. Just because of my username it doesn't mean I'm a diehard blind Archer fan.

He can ball to some extent.... given his current skills? In Asia and probably tier-2 and tier-3 leagues in Europe like Ben Mbala. At this point it would be stupid to say he doesn't have untapped potential remaining but he has done nothing to address his weaknesses as he jumped from league to league either. It's always the coach's fault.

Last, he is not worth all these drama, suspense, uncertainty and endless waiting. This is the most annoying part of all. So much baggage for such a mediocre player.

Does anyone here really thinks that he won't play? It's all posturing. The backlash on both parties would be enormous. It might not matter anymore to Chot and SBP who's been the punching bag lately but it matters a lot to Kai's team who relies on clicks..

Now if they would just reveal what his injury is if ever there is one in the first place

We've been watching gilas for a long time. Mri is just to cover up the negotiation that we all know will be signed by both parties one way or the other. Bakit, if kai or sbp say the mri is out and negative will someone actually read it to confirm and show the public? Wala, the only important info is if kai will play or not.
 
He will definitely play,but I have a feeling Chot is not gonna have big plays for Kai,he will be reduced to followup dunks,alleyopps,etc.
 
Which actually suits him best, I dont think he's currently strong enough to do a 1on1 move on the post on anybody on this level.
 
Abangers role. If he can get freedom to operate like he was allowed under Tab during the SK games, that will give the offense some flexibility and a little bit of unpredictability.

not a problem for kai, he's already used to that in the b.league and nbl :D

He will be the best to take advantage of the gravity caused by JC. However these teams are much better than the windows. I dont think Kai will be as open as in the qualifiers. I think he needs to focus on defense. Try to get his shots in the dunkers spot or the mid range. If his defense holds up he will start. If not, Japeth will. Japeth did a good job of setting the defensive tone for the team in the tuneups.

Unless you have skills like Andray Blatche, expect to be an abanger big man in Chot’s system.

I agree on the defense part. He needs to able to thwart almost all PNR attempts of the opposing teams targeting him all tournament long to increase his PT.
 
kai was not with gilas in the photos with the filipinas wc players yesterday. quick somebody make some speculations & drama :D

With the emergence of AJ on midrange game even beyond the arc,it seems he's Chot favorite big man right now,I have a feeling they won't pass low too much to stop turnovers,even JF have a short range game,around the paint.Kai will have fewer touches,and this will infuriate his fanbase big time.

I just hope his knees last till he’s 37.

That said, we need a new NP post-WC. Another 2014 Blatche-type because players as such bring so much dimension to our game.

I'll go with Ron Harper, Jr. as our new NP while I'll fight for the exemptions of Kouame, Ballungay and Philips.

There is an article about that. SBP is looking for a medical clearance and/or the latest MRI showing Kai is fit to play. That shouldnt be a problem unless they are hiding something.

RHJ could be our long-term answer for our SF needs. Based on the highlights, he currently looks like an improved version of JB. Comfortable with the ball and has a decent 3-pt percentage even if only in G- League.

Definitely that type of player is needed,if AJ didn't get that injury he might be close to being one,let's see how tough AJ is,with the WC test and hopefully we see him in Asian Games too.
