Israeli 1/2 final #2 : Maccabi - Galil

Surprisingly enough, the game is very good.
HT score: Galil 48 Maccabi 46
Some bad decisions by Galil at the end of the 2nd quarter allowed Maccabi a 6:0 run to almost tie the score.
For those who don't know, this is the second semi-final of the Israeli league final four. One game only - loser is out.
Hapoel Jersualem is already in the final, after beating Bnei Hasharon 96 - 83.

Go, Galil !!!!!!!!!

Bynum is the main reason that Maccabi won. All the players were shaky in the last minutes, he is the only one that did something. It's not his fault that he has'nt to play with.

Spahija for sure, but Bynum as a shooting guard off the bench could be useful, but I wouldn't let him play as PG for a single f.. second.

The only bitch I have is Kattish substituted Adeleke for Caspi in the final two minutes that Maccabi pulled away. I really thought Galil had it won before that substitution. It's obvious Caspi is going to be a great player the only thing he didn't figure out this year is how to score thirty a game. Even Michael Jordan couldn't do that his freshman year in North Carolina. That was something he had to learn over time.

Been in the game. All I can say was that Galil lost the game more than Maccabi won it. Maccabi's defence was non existing; Except for some minutes in the second half, Galil could score almost whenever they felt like it. The only reason they lost was their horrendous FT percentage. Maccabi reminded too much the embarassing displays they had in the EL this season. Vujcic was not a factor at all due to his sour back. Jasaitis had zero contribution, and the rest of the back court players had their moments, but their game was not steady. Spahija's also looked like he loset control of the game, throwing out all kinds of funny combinations to the court. At this type of "hood like" games, it was almost expected that the best two players were Arnold and Bynum (with sporadic miraculous 3 pointers from Sharp).

And one more thing I have to add: I find it unbelievable that in the second PL semi in a row, Maccabi's crowd (which is one of the biggest and best in Europe) is being outnumbered by Jerusalem's crowd - at its own arena! I really have no explanation for that.

Really? It didn't look like that on TV. Not to me at least. But anyway, Jersualem's crowd is probably more fanatic and vocal than Maccabi's anyway.

I'm talking about the quantities, not the cheering. TV may mislead sometimes. There were much more empty spots in Maccabi's zone than in Jerusalem's zone. In the cheering aspect, it was a knock out to Jerusalem's fans. I believe that in the final there will be more Maccabi fans (the same thing happened last year).

The league is a lot more competative relative to this time last year. The guard play is outstanding. The post play and small forward position should improve next year with more emerging talent.
