Best 4 nations.

China beat lebanon by 3 and jordan by 6.
Jordan beat lebanon twice ( jones cup, fiba asia 2009)
iran beat lebanon ( jones cup)
jordan beat iran ( jones cup)

Now 5th i would place korea. Then 6th qatar, 7th phillpines and 8th taiwan.
9TH/10th japan/kazahkstan.

lets move to talk about the top four. who do you think is best out of it?

Jordan has statistics. that is number of wins.
but look at their scoring vs conceding.

they are + 55. while lebanon is + 109. Yes jordan won lebanon. but lebanon beat the other countries jordan faced easier + stood against china better.
china is + 81. iran is +108.

could be iran faced easier oponents then china lebanon. so they are + 108. but for lebanon they been the best demolishing force.

our team widthrew in that game, they almost killed each other hehehe

After all is said and done it's still the Chinese who runs away with a clear cut number one seeding.

After that, Iran, Lebanon and Jordan are so close you'd wish the battles they'd be having are best of seven affairs.

Korea and Philippines, in that order but not so distant.

this comparison is meaningless..
let's not confirm these 4 teams for the semis but i think this is the probable thing
in this case i think its 25% for the for teams. any of them can be crowned. maybe china could be even out of turkey if they played like today and yesterday and the other teams knew how to end the game (we saw jordan and leb going to the last minutes very close but china knew how to end it only).
and yes this is the best semifinal ever i guess.

eariers opponents?? dude we were in the same group in the first round and in the second round too? we met the same teams!!

obviously it is still China -- with Yao, they are at an entirely different tier, without Yao however, they are more at par with tier 1 teams (LIB, JOR, IRN) but STILL convincingly better.

LIB and IRN have yet to face in this tournament, but on a good night, i think LIB is the best of the tier 1 teams...

IRN has not been too impressive. i think being defending champs helped them a lot to intimidate other teams, but without that, they might not have fared well...

tier 2 teams are still not out of the tournament though and might still be able to score an upset:
PHI
KOR
QAT
CT (by a long shot)

man he didnt say that jordan faced easier opponents
he said lebanon won the same opponents that jordan won over in an EASIER way i.e. greater margin . he said about iran that faced easier OPPONENTS .
yet this comparison is meaningless imo
chill out guys the tension is so high here:P

the semi final between lebanon and china will be tight..lebanon will play with high spirit knowing they played well and almost did it ,china will be under a heavy pressure from its nation and press and the presedent him self loool.but on the other hand lebanon might be under a heavy pressure (home court advantage, croud, mental status, etc) while china will be energetic and will play their best game to prove they are legit and still thebest in asia.

iran vs jordan game if ever to be played with out surprises in QF wont be any easier than china vs lebanon.

ah ok didnt read it to the end hehehe my bad. anyway those margins wont matter anyway in QF since they are knock outs.

Lebanon vs Jordan in the final will be Perfect this my dream for saturday :D

I can just imagine all the articles that'll come out saying that 2 "American" teams will be battling it out for the Asian championships.

who cares as far as both in the finals,we are both already in turkey, and it will be a great game..jordan wants to prove it self against lebanon 3 times in a row and lebanon wants it revange :D

ohooo jordan lebanon woow would be gr8 .. the best two arabic basketball teams fighting for the asian title.. leaving iran and china fighting for the third world cup spot lol:P
anywayz this scenario is not impossible

Well, basketball is not math, and the score between different teams does not mean too much. The difference between a 3 point loss and a 6 point loss is an extra missed 3 pointer. I saw the game between CHN vs LIB and JOR earlier, one thing they have in common is that CHN is in control of the whole situation. Even though both LIB and JOR come in very close, in both occasions CHN pulled away with one or two nice plays.

SOme of the body languages have shown me that CHN player never thought about losing either games. One of the difference is that by the end of the game, when LIB/JOR scored a critical shot and came in close, their players jumped up and down and cheered like there's no tomorrow, but when CHN returned the favor one play later, their player/bench was relatively calm. Yesterday when WZZ shot a 2 and 1 when JOR was like 3 point behind with 20 seconds left, he and his teammate were pretty calm, and if you saw his face on the TV, he has very little emotions. No panic, no hugging, no tear dropping drama. IT's almost like saying "I told you we got this one". That WZZ shot eventually crippled the JOR plan because now they were forced to rush 3 pointers which never hit. Both JOR and LIB came really close, but as you might aware, 1 point loss is a loss.

I don't know how many times CHN have won this cup, but it seem like that their players have such a psychological supeority over their asian rivals that they can't see themselves losing. It is common to be scared or panic when your rival is like 1 point behind, you, but for CHN team last night, That thought of "omg we are screwed tonight" doesn't seems to be there. Even though many teams (Like JOR and LIB) have shown that they are up there with the "big boys", CHN still have the " I am better than you" mentality. No one can tell how long this mentality will last, but last night and the night before, I saw this kind of attitude towards LIB and JOR.

If I have to rate those three teams (i don't know Iran too much)
i would rank
0. CHN with yao
1. CHN with out yao
2. LIB (physical games w/ good bigs beat guards, the paint is where games are won, or lost)
3. JOR (they have shown that they can beat LIB when things are going alright, but i would rank a guard oriented team behind a Big man oriented team, if they seem to be on the same level)

thank you CHN LIB JOR for making this AC a lot more fun to watch. BB doesn't need 100 pt blowout.

yeah i agree, i really can see lebanon beating china why not? both our teams proved they can do it, its just they need to focus little bit on executing the ball a low field goal % is not in our favor and that what happened to our teams, jordan sucked at those 3 pts and lebanon didnt have high 2pt (from the paint i mean) but yet we were so close.plues meeting in the finals will tell who is better than who instead of bragging hehehe

i agree, but u know i can tell u from now that if china wins it this time.it will be their last for few years to come until they produce a better squad than the current one trust me, that just reminds me of the american squad at the 2000 olympic games, their games against lithuania and france showed every one that in the upcomenig international games they will be beaten and that what happened, something else west asian teams are catching up with china very quickly.so its just a matter of time when we will see china ranked 3rd or 4th maybe.
