Indiana Pacers Thread.

Indiana had its shares of trouble this season against uptempo teams that love to run and score. Teams like Phoenix and Denver play the passing lanes very well that leads to their fast break points. When Indiana does not have a double digit rebounding edge, they are vulnerable. One person that is an enigma and continuous to do so is Lance Stephenson. He can do it all; takes crazy shots that either makes or breaks the team. He is also their leading assists guy but also leads the team in turnovers. But Stephenson is a versatile guy that can achieve a triple double, like has done this season.

Triple double for Lance Stephenson despite the Pacers falling yet again to the Suns. Pacers had no fast-break points, their three point shooting was non-existent and they just pounded it in the paint. Sloppy game by the starters and the bench was almost non-existent.

Pacers having trouble against western playoff contending teams.

Love the fact that Phoenix is the only team that won twice against them during this season. Like you said Indiana has problems with uptempo teams that run and score.
If Pacers can make it through Miami (or even Hawks before that), they will have a tough time in the finals against Western teams, especially if they play sloppy like tonight against the Suns.

ESPN Radio reported that the Pacers are in "serious" talks to Andrew Bynum, who was waived the Chicago Bulls last month.

Career night for George Hill as he stepped up bigtime. He forced OT with a trey and that allowed Indiana as a team to outplay Portland in extra time. Hill had a showdown against Damian Lillard in this one.

Pacers part ways with Danny Granger by sending him to Philadelphia with a 2015 pick to Philadelphia in exchange for Evan Turner and Lavoy Allen.

Thrilling win by the Pacers tonight as they battled from a third quarter deficit to steal the win as the HEAT's defense had a lot of lapses in the 4th. West hit that three as the go-ahead but the HEAT responded by a Bosh 3 made. But the Pacers outlasted the HEAT as there was no time for them to put up a quality attempt.

Reports: Indianapolis strikes deal to keep Pacers

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- The Indianapolis Capital Improvement Board reportedly has struck a deal to pay about $160 million to the Indiana Pacers to keep the NBA franchise in the city.

The Indianapolis Star and the Indianapolis Business Journal reported Thursday that the deal due to be announced Monday will keep the Pacers in the city through the 2023-24 season. The agreement includes options to renew the deal for three years.

The reports said the deal includes $33.5 million for upgrades to Bankers Life Fieldhouse and $10.8 million per year for operations. The Pacers would not be allowed to terminate the agreement because of operating losses. The city also gets the right of first refusal if 79-year-old team owner Herb Simon dies and his heirs put the team up for sale.

Agreement good for another decade. Pacers current crop still has a lot of mileage to run.

Out of the Detroit Pistons, Indiana signs Rodney Stuckey to a one year deal.

Paul George is certain to miss the 2014-2015 season due to that ugly freak injury sustained over the weekend. This not also drags down Indiana's hopes in making the playoffs but also has a ripple effect in the central division and the whole of the eastern conference.

Bad summer for Indiana.

Some good news is that George's franchise, family, friends and colleagues across the NBA are optimistic that he will return one day.

Paul George will change his number from #24 to #13 to better brand his moniker: PG-13.

New NBA Rule Clears the Baseline

AKA the Paul George Rule:

1. The “escape lanes,” the spaces flanking the stanchion that must be kept clear at all times for players hurtling underneath the basket, will be expanded from three to four feet on each side.

2. The number of camera positions will be reduced to 20, 10 on either baseline. T

I saw that couple days ago. This way teams lose a bit of profit right? I mean those camera spots are not cheap...

I'm not sure, but you could be right. Maybe the loss of camera spots would mean that the remaining camera spots pricing could go up as the NBA would offset quantity through price adjustments.
