Hopefully they'll make a new record :D.

I'm hoping they'll manage to reach it to. :) It's always nice to see new records being set, both winning of losing. But I certainly didn't think that they'd continue playing this bad. And I still think that they'll have a better second half of the season, but hopefully they'll reach a record anyway.

3-39 i bet they made a new record already as the worst record after first 42 games :) if the record stands 11,im not sure if they gonna win atleast 7
i remember bulls had record 42-3(1995-1996) ,do you imagine 1996 Bulls against Nets 2010?
how many games Nets wouldnt needed to win against bulls? i think they should have a chance only when Mj would be ~42 years old ,Scottie 40 and Dennis 44 ... ;D

And they trail Uta by 18 on the road again... Can they even make it close? THe better question is how many blowout losses will they have this year?

Earl Boykins hits a 16 footer over Chris Humphries with over four tenths of a second to sink the Nets 81 - 79. Tough loss.

The Nets beat the Kings and get their 8th win of the season.
NJ will have to lose its 11 remaining games to set a new NBA record.

NETS SCHEDULE:
vs Detroit
@Chicago
vs San Antonio
vs Phoenix
vs New Orleans
@ Washington
@ Milwaukee
vs Chicago
@ Indiana
vs Charlotte
@ Miami.

3 minutes left in 4th... Yi career high 30 points (12/15FG), Nets leading by 11...

First consecutive wins for the Nets?

Nets are actually winning today versus Detroit... for the 9th win, and tie the record!

i actually wanted them to beat the record :(

The Nets are on fire :p

NJN 90-84 SAS!

What a slap to the face for the Spurs (especially after the impressive wins against the Cavs and the Celtics). Without Ginobli (out for this game with back spasms)+Parker the Spurs are lacking so much energy. Duncan's productivity this season compared to previous seasons has been much less as well.

so clearly,... the spurs are really needing those players to step up big time in such games,.... many of their players are capable of doing so,.. like George Hill, Richard Jefferson, DeJuan Blair, Roger Mason Jr., Dice Mcdyess, and etc. they've got Manu Ginobili stepping up since Parker was out, but when Manu was not available there must be someone to produce...,

well,... about the NETS??? i think they are not really a bad team,...it was just a chemistry problem among their management and stars... and all of the players,..., if we shall watch their games specially in crunch time before(about NOVEMBER-JANUARY) and now,.... they are different,.. in game approach, and team chemistry.... a lot better now..

Lopez, Williams, Harris, Douglas-Roberts, Lee, Jianlian,.... not a bad team at all.

New Jersey Nets new owner Mikhail Prokhorov is confident he will have a winner and soon.

Mikhail Prokhorov joined Mike Francesa on WFAN in New York City to discuss winning NBA Championships, buying the New Jersey Nets, his status as a playboy, among other questions.

On when the Nets will win an NBA Championship:

"Minimum one year. Maximum five. We have everything at our disposal. We have a very good backbone on management side. And we are considering several outstanding players. And we have the element of surprise from Russia."

On if he would consider himself an international playboy:

"It's very difficult to say. My life affairs is just between my office and gym. Nothing in between. Though I don't hide the fact that I love women."

And on his own basketball ability:

"I was not bad, but not as great as these free agents coming. In Russia, unfortunately, basketball is not very popular compared with soccer and ice hockey. But, I used to play in school and in university for the amateur basketball league. Maybe I was not so good, I feel."

Thanks for reviving this thread.
Nets to Hire Russian Exec for Front Office - May 21, 2010, By Adrian Wojnarowski, Yahoo! Sports

As Russian billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov begins making an imprint as owner of the New Jersey Nets, he’s nearing an agreement with CSKA Moscow president Andrei Vatutin to take a senior-level, front-office job with the franchise, European and NBA sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Sources say Vatutin, 36, will join a revamped Nets front office after CSKA’s season ends in the next few weeks. With the firing of general manager Kiki Vandeweghe on Wednesday, Nets president Rod Thorn will take back his general manager duties.

The Nets are also retaining vice president of basketball operations Bobby Marks.

Sources believe Prokhorov wants Vatutin groomed to someday become an NBA GM. Nevertheless, most believe the young Russian is a long way from being qualified to run an NBA team.

Vatutin was the GM for CSKA, a European powerhouse, when Prokhorov operated the franchise. He helped put together a CSKA team that won the 2008 Euroleague title.

does that mean, he is going to start bringing Russian stars to the League from now on:confused:

My guess is "no," he will not start bringing Russian stars into the NBA; however, like Colangelo in Toronto, he might try to turn his scouts' attention to some of the international leagues.

Lord Triesman on line 2.

I think Prokhorov will find he's a little behind on influencing the refs though ;)

or maybe he means this:
