How about a betting forum?

We see a lot of trash-talking in this forum (aka "We will beat you for sure") which is not a bad thing but occassionally someone posts these trashtalks with the only intention of flaming people. How about we set up a betting forum, and give every member a certain amount of virtual money so everyone can bet on whatever game and then the system itself can transfer money after the results are put in. The virtual money will be displayed beside a member's username so during a discussion one could see who knows what they are talking about and who is clueless.

This has been achieved in Chinese basketball forums with great successes.

I've seen certain applications for this, could be worth a look. However betting can be provocative and am not sure if it is the right direction for IBN. I am willing to listen to arguments about it.

I love the idea. Maybe not betting but a percentage of right guesses. Example: each euroleague gameday has 12 games. Members guess which team will win and a record is formed, say 86/25 (right guesses/wrong guesses).

I liked the betting idea with virtual money better though. Each member can start with 1000 credits, bet certain amounts on games they prefer, on agreed quotes for each game, given before each gameday (based on actual quotes offered by betting agencies). Kinda like a fantasy challenge.
