Guess the 4 semi finalists

I think it's quite obvious the name of the 4 semi-finalists, and they will be Argentina, Greece, USA and Spain, respectively the winners of the Group A, B, C and D. So the semis will be ARG-GRE and USA-ESP. Greece will be in the final and I think Spain could prevail against a new and unexperienced Team USA, like Greece did 4 years ago.

In the quarter finals, I expect to watch Brazil, Lithuania, Puerto Rico and Serbia.

Argentina is not obviously the winner of group A. Serbia seems to be very strong this year. There are (at least) 2 very interesting and undecided games until the semifinals.
1.Argentina-Serbia
2.Spain-looser 1.

After the injuries of Sofo and Bourousis, it's very difficult for Greece to reach SF.

who told you will not come to Turkey?
i bet one of them (for me both of them) will certaintly join Greece in Turkey
Bourousis started practises while i think Sofo is not so serious.and we have ten days.
so relax they will join the team

A little optimism is always welcome:cool:

Most likely both players would go to Turkey, as I read Sofo's injury is NOT serious while Bourousis doctors estimate that most likely he would go to Turkey as the common healing time for his injury is 10 days.:)

You're right. It's not guarented the 1st place for Argentina, but after the game they did against Spain I saw them as a team with possibilities to reach the medals. Serbia will be the powerhouse of Europe in the years to come and the 2012 Olympics are the big challenge to this generation, said Dušan Ivković. By now, I believe more in Scola and Argentina.

Sofo and Bourousis were never the key players for Greek NT. So even if they won't participate to the WC that wont be a disaster for Greece.

Don't forget that our most value player, D.Diamantidis didn't make it out for the Eurobasket of 2009 and Greece won the Bronze medal with out him.

Greece has got many good players and can substitute almost anyone.

But as far as we know according to the Greek media, both players will play sofo & Bourousis.

They are the main 2 centers.Imagine 2006 or Euro 2009 without them. And now, there is too late for substitutes.

Let's hope they'll be both OK.

Ιn 2006 we had only Sofo and he wasn't our main center. L.Papadopoulos was.
Sofo was never our main cender. Not even now.

Bourousis lacks of strength & movements in the base line. He is an excellent player but he is not the typical center.

So i believe that if he wont play, Vougioukas can do the job and fill the gap of his loss.

Tsartsaris is helping a lot in defensive rebounds as well. So we wont have so big problem if Bourousis wont make it to the WC.

Greece has so many talented players in the position 5.

Bourousis
Shortsianitis
Vougioukas
Koufos
Maurokefalidis.
Glyniadakis.
And many other young kids to come.

You understand that none of them can play in this WBC,I suppose.

I mention the successes of 2006 and 2009 just to remind you how useful Bourou(only in 2009) and Sofo have been-especially the underestimated Sofo.

I disagree totally with your evaluation and I don't believe that Vougioukas can fill the gap-not by far,but it's OK since you are Panatha.

(edit) no misunderstandings .I am Panatha also.

Hey Sinobball what about ramadjan?
I don't understand, you mean Turkey will be affected by ramadan? I don't know, but I've read before that Hakeem Olajuwon plays better during ramadan. Maybe someone else more familiar with this can explain...
