Okur plays like crap for the national team. While Milicic showed that he can be dominant player in international competition. We are missing more quality players than you:Milicic,Rakocevic,Stojakovic,Radmanovic,Pavlovic etc.
ok but okur better player them if u have him u can be more dangerous team,he completetly player

If we beat Lithuania tomorrow and France beats Greece we will play against Russia in the quarters :p

I dont doubt at all that our Brothers will lose...

Thats good for them and thats good for us...

France will have chance to show that they are better team than Spain in 1/4 final :p

Issues of this kind do not belong in a basketball arena:

Provokacija turskih navijača

"Turski navijači provocirali su tokom cele utakmice sa Srbijom na Evropskom prvenstvu za košarkaše u Poljskoj. Najpre su istakli zastavu s natpisom "Turska i Sandžak", koja je sklonjena na intervenciju jednog od našeg navijača iz mešovitog braka Srpkinje i Poljaka. Kada se komešanje smirilo, turske pristalice promenile su ploču i počele da skandiraju "Kosovo, Kosovo"."

In brief the article adresses that some of the Turkish fans were provocating the Serbian players, and directly also the Serbian fans and broader public by using a highly unapropriate political banner. After the Turks' banner ultimately was removed, they started shouting, "Kosovo,Kosovo"

I will leave no comments on this action by certain Turkish fans because this is not the proper place to discuss politics. Albeit I firmly believe that the matter should be highlited here, and evaluated by basketball authorities.

Which is a shame since they have a Serbian coach. Hedo Turkoglus parents were born in Serbia, Hedo even speaks Serbian... Not cool at all what they were doing.

In previous pages I wrote I was ashamed of most Turkish supporters in the arena, but did not want to go into details.

If you take out a few guys like me (less than 10 people, I would say), who were in the arena for all games only to enjoy basketball and follow our team closely, all the Turkish people there were mainly of two groups. And they were sitting nearest to the court. The ones you saw on tv actually.

1- Some rich sons of bitches and their families... who thought it was their natural right to "order" the NT players to give photos with them, and when they did not "obey", to curse after them!!

2 - Some people with Turkish flags, but with ultra-nationalistic, religious tokens etc.

To be honest, I don't mind people who have religion-oriented or nationalistic ideologies. Not everybody has to have the same world view. Janissary caps didn't bother me for example, I am not ashamed of my previous history at all.

But the problem starts when this particular group of people show that they have no clue about ethics, tolerance, and respect... Most of those people had seats at different places but they forced themselves in or tricked the guards to get there. Then they started to shout irrelevant things like "kiz bizim oglan bizim", and they did it like a bunch of idiots, with no rhythm or synchrony at all. When our anthem was played, they couldn't even sing it!! when Serbian anthem was being played, the security needed to intervene to keep them from chanting. I didn't distinguish any Kosovo chant though, but that is possible.

Who selects these people to send there!!? I am sure they got the tickets from some official organization, and did not pay anything at all.

They don't represent my country!

Every country has individuals like that. Im not blaming Turkey as a nation just saying its not cool what they did.

You are totally right, usually diaspora is lot worst than people from motherland. They think that they are far better than you, but ''au contraire'' it is the other way around.
Provoking and supporting nationalistic ideas from their worm houses in Germany. No more, fuckers! Long live secularism in Turkey! :)

well unfortunately idiots are everywhere. they are most likely those fanatic muslim freaks. What a bunch of scumbags !! Don't worry about them.

I think that Don Nelson or Greg Popovic don't share your opinion...

i used the terms "very hard" and "generally" not, "impossible". popovic is also a very smart guy, i like him and his attitude towards euro players (2 years ago he was very interested in acquiring kerem gonlum, a hard working pf with no real special talents) this shows he is the kind of guy looking basketball as sports and not expecting his players to create miracles or turn the arena into circus.

Those are the kind of guys that feel important and admired when they do such things. two things about them are :

1- They are ignorant , and they act after what they've heard , and don't revise before they act (anything). our coach is montenegrin , hedo is serbian born , he even speaks serbian.. they think , people(their kind) will admire them if they shout like idiots and <try to> spark old conflicts , janissary caps.. man.. what were they thinking of? we don't have anything with serb people , even if we do , why would you provocate like this..

2-They are many of them ; both in Turkey and in Europe. they usually gather up and wreak havoc in football matches , ever since turkey eliminated from next football event , they head Poland and do such things , that happened in lates basketball finals , between Fenerbahçe and Efes Pilsen , Fenerbahçe lost football championship and they(fenerbahçe fans that i've mentioned) swarmed into the finals , efes made a comback from 0-2 and won the finals , those people couldnt take it and started a fight

i hope we don't encounter with greece , they are likely to do the same.

in the end , there's nothing but old ghosts that haunt recent relationships between these countries , 300 years ago... who cares.. really?

there's a minority of people that would like to start a good relationship with balkan countries , mostly greece , its such a shame to see that these countries have many in common , similar culture , similar music , but still have almost no contact at all

people just can't stand without fighting.. a shame

Peace , and enjoy basketball:)

Hmm...about the greek diaspora I (and not only) believe it is the reversed. Immigrants are much better "Greeks" than those who live in motherland. Anyways.

I said usually... Anyway, I didn't get you, did you mean emigrants?

Don't be ridiculous. The only official organisation who gives Eurobasket tickets is Greek loby and we did not, I repreat did NOT, give them tickets.

Depends... Those across the Atlantic are pretty much like the ones described above...
