Everybody accept this. Without your 3pt shots, score can be 63-48 or something like this.

Three point shots :

Spain 5 / 18

Turkey 6 / 26

Maybe we could say the same about Turkey, without your threes the score could be 48-61 ;)

Congratulations to Turkey for job-well-done! They really played a great game and maybe it is their time to shine now. I wish Semih Erden can play for the Boston Celtics too because he can be a good matchup for Pau Gasol in case it's a Celtics-Lakers finals again this NBA season. :)

I don't talk about counts. About timings..

But thats the game, if you need a three, and you hit it, whats the problem?

Thats like if i said now that Spain lost because you were lucky in second chance rebounds, just timing

Now Welcome new boy!

I have good Greek friends in here but I have to say that to you:
Be careful about Greek loby. Don't ask question about this now , you will recognize day to day. I advise this all the new members of group. Again Welcome.

you are indeed a wise person Ozzi
loby will spare you on judgement day
god bless you and your armchair by the way

It's a pity to see so much hating and fanatical words instead of good comments on basketball.

Not many Spanish people come here because Spain is one of the European countries with the worst English level, but also because we have at acb.com one of the world top basketball forums (where you can find a lot of crap, but also excellent analysis).

The Spanish squad is playing really awful basketball. They have huge problems on defense, where there's not enough intensity, the defensive rotations are way below average (take Asik performance in the first half as example), and some of the best Spanish players are delivering there a dreadful level (Pau Gasol, for example).

The defensive struggles are limiting the Spanish ability to run the floor, where they find themselves more comfortable. But also Scariolo is a coach who prefers the set offense, and Spain is lacking the goods to make it work. Starting with the PG spot, where López and Cabezas look almost useless and Rubio isn't living up to the challenge (Scariolo is not designing good enough offense to take advantage of his abilities IMO).

Then you have Rudy Fernández and Navarro playing a lot of minutes together, which means a smaller and less physical line-up, while they don't really complement each other (one of them always plays bad).

Spain is also missing the spacing created by a shooting power forward, with Garbajosa in the downhill of his career. So there's little space for the low-post guys, right now the most effective Spanish weapons. And regardless, Pau Gasol is completely out of shape and Marc Gasol is lacking go-to character, as he's passing up too many low post opportunities where he has a clear advantage.

In general, there's less perimeter firepower than in previous championships. Spain would bury you with ridiculously long-ranged three pointers delivered by Calderón, Navarro, Rudy, Mumbru or Garbajosa. Now Calderón is not with the team and Rubio can't shoot, Garbajosa and Mumbru can't make them, so the shooting potential has decreased dramatically. Since Spain was a very happy shooting team with a relatively low elaboration of the plays, it's hurting them a lot.

And another thing as well: Spain is suffering a lot because of the refereeing style. The Spanish team is kind of soft, and doesn't take well so many contacts, which are more allowed than in previous events. I'm not complaining: it's just a different style that doesn't suit the current Spanish brand of basketball.

first of all, there's smt wrong with spanish team's style not the referee's style. Spanish players fake too much. But the sad thing is that they don't need to. Spain is the best team in basketball right now. Spain looked bad because turkish and serbian defences were superior. Slovenia is extremely good this year. You will see that you will play much better in the following games and probably show up in the final.

Did I say anything different?

Spanish players fake too much.
Not that much anymore. Fortunately refereeing has improved in that regard and since everybody is aware of Spain's past acting performances, it's not easy anymore for the team to take advantage of those tricks. Indeed Felipe Reyes got a technical foul called on him for faking in the first game (I don't know if it was a good call, since there was not a good TV shot of the play), but I've hardly seen anything similar in the rest of the tournament.

:):) I thought loby is only in this earth. Omg, will loby affect judgement day?
Anyway, In this time, I will find Gasol or some of Spain players in there, you know, loby is afraid of Spain players and I can rescue:)

It passed, and it is forgotten, but this photo shows that there was a clear foul

The other picture was taken by a photographer of "Gigantes" the most important basketball magazine in SPain, with more of 30 years of existence...

Anyway, you Turks, deserved to win us. We play awful, but disrespect of referees over Spain is being amazing in this champ (1st, Lorbek travelling, then this foul...)

Isn't the same in every match for them?:D

what do you think?
can we call this a fault?

Llull try to dunk for the win against Turkey , a clear fault not called
