This thread is to share all the possible informations and analyses about the 4 teams:

1-Lebanon (Leading by Fadi El khatib and followed by the experienced players like Brian Beshara,Ali Mahmoud,Rony Fahed,Omar Turk,Jean Abdelnour...with the new abroads joining from the NCAA,Omar krayem,Ali Kanaan, Daniel Faris and the new naturalized player Jackson Vroman.
I believe that our chances is really good to top this group without underrating the Jordanian Team whom also is formed by experienced international players like Sam Daghlas,Zaid El khas,Ayman Idais,Rasheim Wright with a combination of new talented players like Jamal Abu Shamala,Zaid Abbas,Moussa Awadi. The Jordanian team will suffer certainly on position 4 and 5,and this is one of their old-new problems that even Coach Mario Palma was talking about it,they will be relying on their coherent defense and well-organized offense.

2-Jordan,coached by the well experienced coach Mario Palma with a big hope to enter the Semi Finals for the first time after the big disappointment in the last Asian Championsip in Tokushima. The team is been training together for almost 3 years without any radical changes, they even used their local champion Zain to be a test for the Jordanian National Team in all the international tournaments which served the NT and Coach Palma to keep their players grouped, this is one of their advantages over the other teams, training together for a long period is certainly a benefice.

3-UAE,is a small team,we haven't had any tough games vs that team except for the famous game back to the Asian Championship 2001 when we beat them by 1pt from 2 free throws made by Fadi El khatib (if am not wrong) which allowed us to enter the eight finals and then the semis and the first final ever vs China with a ticket to land a spot in the World Cup at Indianapolis.
Last game vs UAE was in the Asian Championsip 2007 which ended 106-64 for Lebanon.

4-I do not have much details abt Indonesia except for Riyadi vs Satria Muda's game in the Asian tournament for clubs last month. We haven't had any game on the NT level against Indonesia.

The last games btw Jordan and Lebanon on the NT level were most in favor of the Lebanese National Team : (starting by 2005)

Waba Championship 2005
Lebanon vs Jordan 90-74

2005 King Abdullah Tournament :
(1st Round) :Jordan vs Lebanon 78-69
(Semi Finals) : Jordan vs Lebanon 77-91

Asian Championship 2005 (1st Round)
Lebanon vs Jordan 69-59

Jones Cup 2007
Jordan vs Lebanon 72-68

Waba Championship 2008
Lebanon vs Jordan 75-64

Friendly Games: 2-2
Official Games : 2-0 for Lebanon

In SEABA, Indonesia fielded in Indonesian Basketball League finalist Garuda Bandung reinforced by players from other teams. But I don't know if they'll send the same team.

Well ,
for me am so excited for our game ( Jordan Vs Lebanon ) and hope it's the final game in the round not as in 2005 !! :)

For me , Jordan NT is 80% complete in the roster except the centers pos. !!
i think that Jordan have the best players outsiders with abu shamala , daghlas , rasheim , mousa awadi , enver soobzokov and etc...

i think palma is now working on the defensive stratigies more in order to pass lack of good centers , as we know that our offense is pretty good and lots of keys .

Solo, in your opinion do u think Jamal Ma'ayta is a good player?
I'm actually disappointed with the way he has been playing since he joined the Jordanian NT (maybe it's cuz i was expecting a bigger impact from him considering the experience that he had obtained from playing in Germany)

In all honesty I think Ayman and Zeid are much better than him especially since they are great shooters and they have good footwork and can play from both inside and outside.

Other than that I think coach Palma's effect on the team will start to show by the Jones Cup and u guys have been preparing really seriously so I wish u all the best!

The Indonesian NT got thrashed by the Powerade-Team Philippines (the best Philippine NT considering that Smart Gilas is the developmental Philippine NT) by more than 40 points in the first round and by almost 30 points in the Final in the SEABA qualification round that took place 2 weeks ago.

Jordan vs Italy "B" 61-94

Coach Mario Palma was expelled after shouting on the referees many times.Sam also left the game objecting about the referees :D

Rasheim Wright 17pts

well the third place in this group will be interesting because UAE and Indonesia are in the same level :). I'm looking forward to watch lebanon and jordan as well i hope they will televised all the fiba games here in our country :)

I think Indonesia is a little bit tougher than UEA now,,if they send their full roster not the club that they send during the SEABA games

Wasn't it supposed to be a friendly game :D.
Regardless of the result getting to play against good European "B" NT's is still excellent preparation and will expose the weaknesses of the Jordanian team since they are playing against teams that are at a higher level. In this way coach Palma can see where he still needs to work on to improve his team.

I'm pretty sure the Jordanian NT suffered against a solid defense and probably had a height disadvantage so they were weaker from inside.

Yeah , the italian team was awesome , they play very tough defense all the way and with changes of positions in the offense quickly , they play real basketball for sure .

the game started point to point untill the referees ( italians ) started thier game of technical fouls ( 20 free throw in less than 5 minutes with 8 consecutive throws !! ) well this made the players out of conc. + palma out of the court + sam daghlas out also . but that is not the real reason for our loss , cause as i said the italians coached by recalcati was awesome , and am sure that 3 to 4 players will join team A in the upcoming qualifications to Eurobasket 2009 .

phil. won over indon w/ very huge margin.

i say indonesia is out of the game if it is top two they are going to get
since its top three, im not sure how strong uae is

i remember that NT from italy that beat RP before by 30 pts margin... it was the 1998 centennial team that represent us and invited to 4 nation friendly games against latvia, italy and another european country...

Best Players in Jordan NT:

Sam Daglas
Racheam Wright
Saptzouka( something like this :P)
Ayman D3es
Zaid Alkhas
Jamal Abu shammal

Best Players in Lebanese NT :

Ali Mahmoud
Fadi AlKatib
Jackson Vromer
Omar Krayem
Daniel Faris
Matt or Barbour

In all the respect to the Jordan NT i think we have a better squad and we just want some chemistry between players and we can beat Jordan :D:D:D

I just want to ask a question does anyone know who are the teams that will participate in Qatar Tournament in 1 July ?????????????????(according to my information: Lebanon Qatar Jordan Iran Nigeria)

Let's hope none of that happens to any team in the Asian championships. I'm so sick and tired of coaches being pulverized thanks to poor officiating.
