Congrats. :) Another big game for us. :D I'm waiting tomorrow's game. :)

If we could have another good center (like Petravičius) then we could do many things. :)

By the way, I'm happy, we have 3 good shooting guards, but sometimes all of them seems like nothing and I'm missing Lukauskis. Yes, it sounds strange, but those other guys just don't know what to do. I still don't know, why I'm thinking like that :D

You can't have offense without decent center. And anyway we were outmuscled - not a surprise to see kleiza & maciulis leading the boxscore, we could defend during 1st half but that was it - and guys gave up way too fast.
Flo pietrus would have brought much more toughness but that's the way it is. Bench was awful today furthermore.

2nd 1/4 was when lit coach started playing a lot zone D and we sunk quite fast. Can't bring the ball inside = death. (tyhat and the zero half court Defense in second half, can't leave a team running the fastbreak like we did)

Congrats lithuania, needless to say it's well deserved win.

And Liths had a decent center? When? Javtokas was playing with one leg you know while everyone else are PF's.

So you can have offense and win without a decent center, as Lithuania won.

I don't think enough credit was due to Maciulis. He (his D) and Kleiza have been the most important players in this tournament.

Congrats to everyone. I'm totally pissed at format of the compatition. 5 days till next game! FIVE FUCKING DAYS!!! WTF were they thinking with schedule like that?

when the hell gecevicius start making open shots?!
why didn't jasaitis play? did he get injured?

btw according to Maciulis ir last EB he was suppose to make threepointers instead of playing near basket, and that was, wait for it... by Kurtinaits schema!

and today i read an article where the same Kurtinaitis is praising Kalnietis, while last summer he and Butautas didn't give Mantas a freakin' chance...

A great comeback once again. It looks like we're going to play Puerto Rico in the play-offs. 5 days break is too much...

That sucks. Puerto Rico was better than both Greece and Turkey. Oh well. Guess it all falls into pieces. Also USA in the semis.

Nice first place in the group.

Don't like the idea of playing PR, they are very unpredictable. And 5 days break is really shitty thing we can lose our rithm and focus

Well at least Javtokas will be able to fully recover from his injury

Yes, but you can see bad things in every teams' games if you look for them.

;)

Yeah, but some things are tragic.

Puerto Rico isn't good opponent, they're good. But we can win.

Don't worry...yesterday Seibutis didn't played, today Jasaitis. It's normal. :)

C'mon, Kemzūra could use Andriuškevičius more instead of PF like Klimavičius.

Except that we did not play zone defense that much. And even if your centers are "second choices" (at least klimavicius, find me a french javtokas in this nt or even elsewhere ?), they are pretty much outweighting ours and i pass on the size advantage.
And i pass on the quality of the screens (yours were simply good screens, we could not set up any good enough, either your player was coming through either we could not keep them behind).

I agree that Puerto Rico won't be an easy opponent, but hey, better them than Greece or Turkey. Turkey is hard to stop when they play at home (it's never easy to play a host team, unless they're Japan). And Sofo would totally destroy our defense under the basket.

i don't know, traore is a decent center if used properly... and he's not that lightweight either!

hey guys i have a remark i hope it is correct, i think the reason Lithuania is winninig late in games is because they have great depth and there subs are almost the same power as there first five so the opposing dont have that , dont u think?? any way good luck guys and u will definatly win 2mr against us...

How long has Javtokas been nursing a leg injury?

True. That's definitely one of the reasons.

now what with the ranking?

Tomorrow, we can have a triple drawn between Spain, New Zealand and France if: Spain defeats Canada and New Zealand wins vs. France.

+/- points between (eventual) drawn teams:
1. Spain: +11
2. France: +6 (1 game left)
3. New Zealand: -17 (1 game left)

If Spain defeats Canada and New Zealand wins vs. France.
1. France will be 3rd if they lose by 11 or less against New Zealand.
2. New Zealand will be 2nd if they beat France at least by 29.
3. New Zealand will be 3rd if they beat France at least by 12.
4. Spain will be 2nd if NZ beat France by 28 or less.
