. Tony Parker had one of the best coaches in the history of basketball at San Antonio and even though he's become a better shooter he will never be a great shooter and neither will Rubio. But it doesn't mean he can't be a great player without a superb stroke.

Rubio has improved as hell his shooting technique. He will improve even more. But he is a playmaker and unless you are Djordjevic, you should concentrate in other issues. Raul Lopez is shooting less but much better (the shoot selection is being good) than Rubio... that is something Rubio has to improve.

During the timeout with 1:20 left to go, Spanish players really don't seem to give a fuck about whatever Scariolo is saying.

Yep. And Scariolo was crystal clear: take your time, look for a pass inside or to the FT line... Still, you will never hear Scariolo shout.

Had Croatia back then (and lately) played like Lithuania last night, that is, play basketball and not a referee victimism drama, things might be different.
lithuanias are from north of Europe (or norther then Croatia anyway), we are from balkans..
hot blooded..
that means big difference in the temper of players, coaches, fans..
you can't change that, atleast not in the short period of time anyway..
what happened to us, wasn't just a one bad call..
it was one after another, and sooner or later it will just make you go crazy..
besides, there were no pro Spain calls yesterday in lithuania - spain game that liths needed to overcome..
refereeing yesterday was pretty much o.k., a mistake here and there for both teams but that is normal throughout the game..
but I don't want to go through that discussion all over again..
it is just funny how I usually have a lot of problems remembering names of new people I meet but 5 years has passed and you can still wake me up in the middle of the night and I can repeat you the names of those three fat bastards..

Ok ok, can someone remind me, what I was sayin' yesterday? :D That's in those haters face :D Big win for us and I'm proud of our team, because this team never gives up until the end ;]]]

By the way, I was right, when predicted +3 points to our team. :)

Congrats for us. :) I hope team can continue this work and go further. :) On fire. :)

Do you remember Euro'95 final Lithuania - Yugoslavia? Who were more hot blooded then? ;) Actually, I think in that game it was the temper of Lithuanian stars that cost them the gold - above all other minor things. They simply could not concentrate on the game at the end... and Sabonis has always been a bit of a cry-baby, that's for sure.

Stereotypes have never been helpful. The 95 final is a good example of how bad calls + bad temper is an awful combination in any sport. Cool head, show respect and unless is the 80s and you play in Greece, the referee will be alright :D

No offenses, but Yugoslavia was a better team than Lithuania back then. Deeper bench.

Hey i remember the guy with the long red beard from Katowice, rode on his bus.:D His beard was a bit shorter then.

His nickname is "sekla" (eng. seed) he is THE best fan and the president of the fan community, his been with Lithuanian teams in every game since forever..

U can see the pics i took with him in the Lithuanian NT 2010 section ;)

(I have been hanging out with him for the last two nights and he really is a great person. He even told me that I can sit with the Lithuanian fans section during their games and can join them when they carry the big flag during the timeouts :).
I also plan on hopefully meeting him and the rest of the Lithuanian fans in Istanbul during the second round and quarterfinals).

Lithuania was better in that final as far as basketball goes.

Sure. They played better, specially Marciulionis. The team was not... but they gave all they had and more.
From that they I felt deep respect for Strombergas....

Right. That's what I basically meant, the basketball was better but the mental game was not up to par.

He was rejected by Kazlauskas :D

why was he rejected?

Kazlauskas was inviting him for several times, but Papas kept rejecting. Then at some point of preparation for the tournament Theo has changed his mind, and even hired a personal coach, who would help him to get fit for the championship. But this time Kazlauskas said "No, thanks".
