Even after this game, I still consider Spain to be at least a medal contender, if not the favorite to win gold (USA and probably a few other teams may have better chances). You shouldn't write your team off too soon.

I'm glad that my 1000th post on these boards is in this thread.

The problem is Spain needs new people. I don't want to watch more Garbajosa and Mumbrú in the NT, i.e.

I think Spain as it is might be one of the most talented teams in the world. Don't get too gready when you already have Rubio :) the day he learns to shoot the ball he becomes unstoppable, mark my words. It's hard for me too see any sight of an end for the "Spanish era"...

I know Garbajosa is one dimensional and ugly as hell, but he does shoot the ball with the best of them, and brings some rebounds on the table too.

Spanish too pessimistic. Cheer Up! Likewise with the Greeks

the Spaniards are totally being overpessimistic right now. It's just being the last Eurobasket over again.
The greeks?we're not, but we should- with such a terrible draw infront of us.

...consoling the Spaniards! Another humiliation, you sneaky sob:D

LOL, what a game, the Spaniards got the 20 point lead and relaxed...too early! But the Liths didn't give up -they had to stay close, remember?- and in the end they got away with the win in front of twelve perplexed Spanish faces. :D

I feel sorry for both Spain and Lithuania kids who will have yet another Youtube video to fight over.

Very disappointing loss for Spain. I didn't expect this end, when Spain reach a comfortable lead in 3rd quarter. I share the opinion that Scariolo absolutely missed the way he managed his team today.
Congratulations to Lithuania, love to watch them play with big heart!

I think that loss against Lithuania was a turning point, not just a loss, even a sweep I remember watching it with sadness, I think it was the first time that I saw that team completely dismantled, even though it was only a firendly, but you could see that the team lacked a good strategy

Spain has too much talent for me to say their ride is over. Given that no team, not even the "vaunted" US, looks invincible in this tournament, they're more than capable of winning gold. Scariolo has made some questionable moves (or lack there of) in regards to substitutions. Also, after watching the Spanish teams of the past decade, it's apparent under Scariolo Spain doesn't have the same strategic attack on offense it once did. But in all fairness, the team is missing key players that could've made this team the clear favorite--as are most teams.

As Gonzaka suggested, I think come 2012, Spain needs to retool their roster and for God's sake, get a coach that can utilize his players better and design better strategies. :D

dont feel sorry, there wont be fight, spaniards kidos dont speak english

actually, yes, there will be a fight, but it will be between the spaniards supporting the nt and the spaniards rooting for the other team

Congrats to Lithuania on this great win!
What a comeback!! After being down I believe 61-43 and never giving up.

The atmosphere at the stadium was amazing.

I am going to forget about our horrible loss and celebrate with the Lithuanians.
I can hear their chants right now from outside my hotel :D
