From the 2008 roster that played against Slovenia, Oh Se-Keun, Yang Hee-Jong, Kim Tae-Sol and Kim Joo-Sung.

Korea can't afford another injury to let's say Kim Joo-Sung or Yang Dong-Geun.

Despite injuries, Moon Tae-jong (Jarod Stevenson) can play game

Are you sure this is their salary ?

Are you sure this is their salary ?

yes. basic salary + incentive.

Team Salarycap is about $2.3M USD (only domestic player)

Team is usually playing three times a week. (regular season 54 games, 10 teams, six months)

I didn't get that... Only domestic players can play or salary cap is applicable only to domestic players?

Salary cap is only applicable domestic player.

2 Foreign player can play. (1 play, 1 bench, 1+1)

Foreign players earn $175,000~$300,000 USD.

Well, basicaly lost of South Korean guys are getting about the money most of Slovenians are. Goran Dragič is obviously an exception, don't know Zoran's contract but should be decent as well, apart from that majority of players are in 150k-300k € range. Days of E.Lorbek (3M), Smodiš (3M €) Nesterovič, Lakovič, Nachbar and other well paid individuals are gone now.

As ussual I hope our bigs will play some good team defense and our backcourt would keep on playing the way they were so far. Hopefully Slovenia could bring Prepelič in the mold with some extensive minutes. His outburst with some consecutive threepointers would be welcome for his confidence for the future games at this tournament. I wish Dragič bros and Lorbek would be taking a lead fast enough for Blažič, Prepelič and Klobučar getting those extensive minutes at the pace these games are played some more rest for other guards would be welcome.

Well I was about to mention that the South Korean locals are probably the best paid locals in all of Asia (generally speaking since top Chinese players would probably be getting a get a bit more than that).. Their imports though is another issue since the Chinese CBA pays top salaries for imports

I haven't followed Slovenia closely so far, but I'm very astonished when I see their results, considering, something I hadn't noticed until recently, that many players deserted since last Eurobasket. I mean Begic, Vidmar and Nachbar. I assume Vidmar was injured / not fully recovered, but what about the 2 others? Begic had a sabbatic year in Greece... and Nachbar: feels too old? What about "fat cat" Erazem Lorbek? Since he hit the jackpot with Barcelona 2 years ago he's been a ghost, and now he doesn't even want to play for his NT?? What a disgrace.

very terrible system.

Asia(most weakest continent in basketball) third-rate basketball players earn mediocre euroleague player's salary.

Korea basketball conglomerate should reduce budget.

I question the wisdom of giving a player so much money.

I forgot the official reason for Begić, but unnoficial from a well informed sources he just doesn't feel like playing. That being said, yeah my sympathies to Oly fans, I know those same "Mirza stories" from way back. He was always the lazy guy just about anywhere he appeared to the extent some people even gave up on him as a serious basketball player at the age of 20-22.
Vidmar is injured, Nachbar retired, Erazem at the worst case scenario might be nearing end of his career due to chronic injuries that keep going after him. He attended the training camp, wanted to play (since they broke up the contract with Barca it would also be in his interest to perform well in the summer), but got a sore knee and the medical staff said he should probably get one more surgery.

Omić is a head case, he is walking through Ljubljana as some "tsar" "superstar" "king of the village" (whatever you want to call it) just after signing a contract with Olimpija as if he achieved anything serious with that and generaly has some issues understanding defense in particular, but he is well fed from our backcourt on this tournament and performed nicely so far. Slokar lost some noticable weight and even if he isn't on his old level (also slightly injured atm) he can be a servicable center (not much more than that though), as for Balažič no matter his limitations he does his job well as the stretch PF. Zupan is a whole other story, he makes mistakes, but the man is deaf since birth and it's a big miracle he actualy plays at this level anyway and I've got nothing but respect for the man.
Backcourt has been a pure poetry so far, to the extent I really regret Smodiš had to retire, Erazem has his health issues or Nesterovič didn't prolongue his career since this backcourt doesn't need much more than a high class inside player to be able to achieve something good. Vidmar and Begić can provide some stuff on court, but are nowhere near the quality of the upper mentioned trio when they were healthy.

Also, to my firm belief as much as Maljković has won in his career Zdovc is an upgrade. This might be that difference that made the absence of Vidmar, Nachbar and Begić easier to cope with.

The idea to let Korea shoot at will is just plain brilliant :)
well yeah, one of the common scenarios after two consecutive great games and a third one against roster wise inferior opponents is a pure element of suffer as far as Slovenia goes. I should get used to that by now.
