In Poland you had Pau Gasol who was out of shape and Spain had struggled first few games before he got into the grove. I believe we would have smacked you one more time in the finals if it wasn't for Pau Gasol who made the difference. As I said before WC I am not sold on Spain yet they have to prove they can cruise to the finals without Pau.

it is not just one nation...catalonians,,basques,andalusians etc etc etc..we are talking about many many nations...and more than 17 autonomous communities

But they don't refuse playing for the Spanish NT!!! See the case of Pau Gasol, Marc Gasol, Juan Carlos Navarro, Ricky Rubio and Álex Mumbrú, all from Catalonia.

Let's say that this is at least a moot point. I'm andalusian. There are almost no andalusians that doesn't consider themselves spanish. And it's like that in almost all Spain. It's in Catalonia, Basque country and maybe Galicia where there are more people that doesn't feel they are spanish. But most people here (and especially out of the territories I said before) consider that we are one nation.

And please let's leave it there before this turns into a political discussion.

i am mainly talking about catalonia,basque country and galikia...anyway i think(i am sure) that these territories would prefer to have their own countries..

i really believe that if spanish goverment one day finally accept their right for self determination spanish national teams would never play again at the high level we all see nowdays

but you are right let's stop this conversation

You're proving you really don't know what you're talking about. And I'm talking about electoral results here, not about what I think or feel. You should take a look before doing that kind of statement.

Nah, don't worry. I can see that we the fans (not only here in Spain, but everywhere) can be a real pain in the ass when their team wins. But something we demand to our athletes here is that they should be humble. Nadal, Pedrosa, and the majority of the members of the NTs are quite humble. Of course there are exceptions (Alonso, Lorenzo...) but in general terms our guys have a great respect for the rival, so it's not fair to lump them together.
