First of all, pls don't get me started about my basketball knowledge.

Secondly if you have a chance to watch it again than you'll understand what i mean by that aye. If you're beaten by 3 and left only 6 secs and also if you have 2 guys wide open who can make those easy than that's no good call my friend.

I don't think they lost because of this...

They managed to throw a win-shot at the end afterall;)

well, the game history speaks for itself.. PR had a chance to win.. and a player maybe was fouled (didnt have a chance to view it again), so Balkman was right.

And saying white on black is just stupid.. sorry, you all do it youselves

laughable

against Lithuania it will only get worst

Why would it get worse? We're not Turkey or Spain, the refs usually don't support us.

Who are we gonna face next? Lithuania?

I hear theyre soft

I think you'll be surprised.

Sorry for you guys though (that is if you really got robbed - I didn't see the game).

Trying a 1 sec left buzzer beater is not the same of having 2 guys wide open set to make an easy 3 to level things up.:)

I won't include this in my signature :D, but I don't understand what you mean. As zik explained, PR could have tied the game with a 3 at the end. Balkman was wide open for a dunk why the hell would he pass it out, that's crazy talk.

Also this game doesn't affect standings so I don't see how anyone is upset. (It is good for China though, at least our chance of 2nd round is still 0.5% instead of 0.000%).

Puerto ricans , first thing to whine about is your team, you let that 10 point lead slip away and you fall behind by 12 against an asleep turkish team. Seriously , did the refs add that 22 points?, Refs are refs they always have some questionable calls , (one was very obvious i must admit.)

So before pointing your fingers at the refs, criticise your team.

how smartly the subject was changed from the refs ;)

just the 2 points the refs gave Gonlum for free (the other ref actually was waiving the 2 points off) decided the game... DIDNT THEY ?

Right in the same possesion when needed 3 points and besides Balkman being free, we were down defensively and PR had 2 guys set on the perimeter open, that's what i mean and that's definitely a bad call that a player can do in that situation. At least not the best call at all.

Thats changed the whole game, and not only one for gonlum, I think other foul on Peter, that not what foul.

To my fellow countrymen: oh come on, we had a push from the refs... you might just missed it because you probably had your adrenaline at its highest, were shouting like "C'mon boys"...

I can tell ya all, we didn't deserve this game...simple as that

they have every right to feel robbed simply because they were..
every dubious decision in second went in turkey favour..
every single one..
in that period you are refering too Turkey scored 9 of their points from FT line..
that is 40%..

this thread is going to about Turkey will push into final by refs.thats really annoying.thats really disgrace..can you say something about wins over Greece and Russia(yes you can i think). greek guys please stop messing around..we are not the team like yours and Spanish.

there was few bad call tonight.last one was totally disaster.sorry for porto ricans..we were bad tonight,we did silly mistakes in last 2 minutes while leading by 9 point..but just tell me what would change if Porto Rico win the game? nothing!!we will beat China tomorrow and we will finish on top..and Porto Rico will beat İvory coast and they finish 4th..nothing changes..

I can feel what my PR friends feel here, as we had same kinda situations over the history about the refs not making the right calls.

And also i can wholeheartdly say that we were lucky to get the win today.

But that doesn't change the fact that PR players didn't play the game as they should have. Because that's pretty normal home teams getting some calls and what to do is simple keep the concentration and keep doing what you're doing best but PR lacked on that mentally and adding with some really bad offence calls and especially what Balkman did at the end made them suffer.

It was a fun match to watch, and as i told it b4, props to PR team.

is coach Manolo talk negative aboutgames?goodluck p.ricans..

No man, ask Balkman why he chose to score a layup when you're beaten 3 points instead of passing to his teammate wide open to get 3 then we can have a discussion aye.

I don't get that, Balkman was wide freaking open from behind the arc. I mean everybody knows he's as bad a shooter as it gets but damn, when your desperate and time is running down why the heck no:confused:. They lost anyway, had he shot it he would have at least had chance

First of all hi everyone!

I've been reading here during the championship, and even just reading was enough to bore me because of those referee arguments,
I have some sympathy for Puerto Rican fans, cause they've lost both games so close, and i accept today is also referee was on our side a little, Kerem Gönlüm's ball was so clear indeed, and we also know the Greek game too,
but still you're talking about the free throws and more, you hit 3 pointers a lot, thats your gameplan, to speed up the tempo, and to get off balance 3 pointers, thats why you dont get free throws a lot, besides whenever Ömer Aşık got the ball around the rimp, right at the second you fouled him cause you know how weak he is on the line. So lets accept referees decisions were more likely on our behalf, but nothing is stolen from you, thats the game, you cant just manage to run every game perfect, refs are also human,

And moreover I can't believe how some Greek fans (not all of them) can even talk about the referees:) Somebody has just appealed against the referees who managed your game, and right after you found the same one when you were playing against us, and you're still crying out:) Thats unbelievable,

So, i say, lets just talk more basketball here,

Today was an invaluable day for us, it's been a great practice, We now more experienced how to handle against a team can really shoot, and hopefully learned a lot from our mistakes, and we've also realised not to trust Ersan that much, cause with all those talents he has, we've seen that he's not adequately mature enough to handle every game, therefore we really need Hido to do something, play like he played today. And I think our staff will do what it takes and warn Ersan to stay in the game as a team, and not to lose his part on that team, and remind thats not NBA, every ball is so valuable. Tanjevic would explain those on his way:)

As for Puerto Rico, i really enjoy watching them, I wish they would have a player like Ersan or Velickovic, maybe Lorbek, both inside and outside scoring with rebounding, and with Arroyo, i think they would be capable enough to manage almost everything..

Turkey may win every game this round, but they eventually will tire out. We saw a bit fatigue today, and it will still get tougher.

This is what will make Puerto Rico very tough this tournament. Any of our players can play for 30 minutes.

Today Barea was rested playing 20 minutes, while Ramos played 30 today after barely playing against China. Peavy and Balkman didnt get a lot of minutes either.

This will be great if we make it to the top 4

fatigue? a little.. maybe..

But the biggest problem was..

Turkish team obviously underestimated the PR team.

Other thing, I don't know why here in this forum they hate or I don't what always put Puerto Rico losing, look the poll, I mean c'mon, show some respect to Puerto Rico.
