Group B aka Death Group

So this group is or was the toughest group in Eurobasket history or maybe in any bb tournament for that matter.

Germany picked Turkey and Serbia,Latvia picked Estonia and Lietuva..Croatia picked Slovenia and Fyrom. The way groups were formed cheapens the tournament, they were pretty much regional groups.Otoh it's the only way they could guarantee that games wouldnt be played in front of empty stands.

Croatia picked - Slovenia
Latvia picked Lithunia
France picked Finland
Problem is I don't know if federations or FIBA picked.

Federations picked the 1st opponents. That proves Germany is not so intelligent by picking Turkey & Serbia instead of others.

And why not Greece instead of Serbia? There is a very large Greek community living in Berlin.

Germany didn't pick Serbia. Where did you get that from?

Only one country was picked and it was:

Germany>Turkey
France>Finland
Croatia>Slovenia
Latvia>Estonia

The rest was drawn.

There were some combinations considering the pot's host countries were in and the countries they picked which only enabled 1 option for a team from some pots. I forgot which team, but I think group B had 3 teams determined from the very start and the 4th was a 50/50 thing or something like that.

Went of the game charts from the group just to check out the stats and compare them to the personal experience. We played very well with a solid rotation and ball distribution. So here are some things I liked:

- Noone played a lot, which is crucial for the knockout phase. Teodosic was the leader with 27mpg, Bjelica Second with 25mpg. The rest of the first 9 played 15-20 minutes. The bottom of the rotation Milosavljevic and Simonovic played 10mpg, Milutinov 5mpg. This is excellent and we kept everyone fresh and managed to run the teams over. This will become of even more value know in the games that mater. I expect that minutes will rise a bit in difficult games (Milosavljevic, Simonovic and Milutinov loosing a bit of the minutes)

- We shared the ball very well, being the best team at that in Eurobasket so far. Aside the the Germany game where Teo and Bogdan shot 20 3s and nobody tried to create, the rest were a pure joy to watch. In terms of assists Teodosic has 7apg, Bogdanovic 4.2apg, Bjelica 3apg, Nedovic 2.6apg, Markovic and Kalinic 2.2apg. Good ball movement, expected Raduljica to be there as well, but he started the EB2015 terribly but he has improved last 2 games. We will see in the Knockouts.

- The team is shooting well in FG percentage, being the best at Eurobasket at that as well (50.5% from the field). This is to take into account with that terrible shooting display vs Germany (4/30 from 3point line), otherwise number would've been greater. Teodosic and Bogdanovic in that game absolutely destroyed their and teams 3point % (both shooting 25%, team 32%), but the rest of the team is shooting extremely well from downtown as well. With more recent shooting form of Teo and Bogdan that can go only up with our ball movement.

- We are one of the best rebounding teams at Eurobasket, not necessarily at the offensive end but defensively very solid and we don't allow teams to get offensive rebound and second chance points. This is very important for the knockout phase to keep that statement true.

- Last but not the least, we average only 11 turnovers a game being 2nd in EuroBasket behind Turkey. That is excellent, especially with our style of play and lot of passing and tempo, that is a crazy low number. If there wasn't that retarded Iceland game with 20+ turnovers out of being relaxed and not focused enough, that number would be easily around 8.

Anyway can't remember a team that was this cohesive in the last 10 years of Serbian NT, and it passes both the eye and the analytic test.
