Argies can still win the group with a large enough win. If Spain tanks their game, and Argentina looks like they will win this one but not by enough to win the group, will they lose it intentionally at the end to avoid finishing second?

The U.S. team will bounce back from its close call against Lithuania and win handily by at least 20 points.

;)

USA will be motivated:

- Memories of friendly game...
-Memories of last game...

I expect the US to come out sharper, and gradually wear the Argentinians down, exposing their lack of depth. If it the game gets past ten, I expect Argentina to completely shut it down and save up energy for Brazil/Spain.

From the telegraph interviews, Team USA stars like LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony can now gauge what to expect from quality teams.

No need to trump Argentina, they are better off saving their energy IF a win is already guaranteed.

This is of course, assuming they will play very well against Argentina.

One could only wish the US would play to its full potential each game, but this is too much to ask. US would rather continue to play in its "comfort zone" and not give its opponents the satisfaction of playing them TOO hard. God forbid we see a bunch of multi-millionaires breaking enough sweat...

Still, US with the win...

USA has been playing hard. These guys are not taking it easy. No team plays 100% to its potential each time. I don't see any slacking in this USA team. Argentina might win. they are good enough to beat the USA. They are better "team". USA is still figuring some things out. It should be a good game for at least 3 quarters.

The US team played a little harder than previous. LBJ tuned in at the end. This team can do so much more. They are still vastly underrated by many; however, US also made the mistake of underrating Lithuania. No one will beat the US team this time around. They will adjust to high pressure and do what is necessary for a W. Just wish they did more from the start to not place them in such a position. You can tell when they get into a lead they succomb to the "chillin' effect", or taking it easy. This needs to change. As you can tell, I want this team to blow out all competition because I know they can do it.

I never have seen this "chill effect" you speak of. Not from this team. I also do not think USA can blow out every team on every night. Global basketball has improved so much that if USA can win by 10 or 15 points I'm good with that result. If you think this team is lazy or not dialed in I disagree with you. Lietuva was going to be a tough game no matter what. They almost always play USA hard. I expect 2 more close games in this tournament. By close I mean 8+ to 15+ point differential.

Argentine's smallboy No.7 is one crafty flopping punk b***h

This game goes to the wire also, US has not learned anything from Lithuania's game and keeps playing on perimeter.

Actually I wish Argentina to win this, maybe this will send the message to these lazy morons of 2012 US team. Boy I miss hardworking 2010 team.

Argentina was a better team, USA keep playing too much individually, if the great shooting day from 3 for USA stops they are loosing this game... And of course if Argentina´s old players manage to contuinue this way. Two big ifs... I also hope that americans will some day learn how to go for a dunk without a travel...

Seems like Lamas does not want to win the game. Scola did not play in the 2nd quarter and for the first time in this tournament (against the strongest team) the bench players are playing a lot of minutes. I understand him, they would face Spain in the quarters. Tanking everywhere:mad:...

Argentina can't win this. Score is too high already. Plus the game is not important, so they won't go down the wire. If this was a knock out game though, the US could loose. Mostly because USA would loose many more 3s.

Yes, seems that this game is over, argentinians could not manage the tempo in 3rd quarter. They also miss Prigioni a lot... Lebron and Durant continue to play great.

Btw. they want to kill Ginobili this game... Especially Chandler´s foul was really dirty.

USA is unbeatable if Durant is on 2010 mode which he is on right now.

Is Prigioni just resting or is he injured?
