Two African teams in their first Olympics. Tunisia won last year's Afrobasket but this is an all-new Nigerian team. Can they win this unofficial African championship?

Would have been more interesting if they didn't end up in the same bracket.

Nigeria so long as they even have half the fire they showed in the AQT.

Good defense by Nigeria in the first quarter, not allowing Tunisia to get the ball inside. Tunisia ran pick & roll effectively a few times late in the quarter, maybe need to do it more.

Tunisia is getting annihilated! (considering that they are playing another fellow African nation)
I knew Nigeria is a stronger team but limiting the Tunisian team to just 15 points in the first half is mighty impressive.

First Half:
Nigeria 31 -15 Tunisia

Excellent start for Tunisia in the 3rd quarter... I'm pretty sure coach Adel Tlatli had some harsh words to say during half time.
Nigeria were able to get things in order again..

End of 3rd quarter:

Nigeria 45 - 31 Tunisia

Not sure about the missed dunk but hang on the rim while the ball goes off the backboard and in play by Diogu. Good run by Nigeria to close the quarter after Tunisia had cut it to 36-29.

Through three quarters, 21 free throws for Nigeria and 0 for Tunisia. Nigeria hit a three on the first possession of the game and hasn't hit another.

Love that Greece and Croatia are playing in water polo right now ;)

Wow, 16-4 run by Tunisia to start the fourth. 49-47 Nigeria with 5 minutes left.

Bakare in the timeout: "We can't lose this game! We can't lose this game!"

Not sure if he even has a clipboard.

Nigeria's physical game under the basket eventually prevailed as the difference in FT's taken was clearly evident. Many turnovers by the Tunisians in the game as well.

Final Score:

Tunisia 56 - 60 Nigeria

Nigeria holds on 60-56. Impressive fail by Aminu as he was looking for the dunk to close out the game.

Not Mejri's day...1/8 from the field, missed the two free throws at 54-51, and fouled out.

Tunisia could have won if they controlled the defensive boards better. At the end it seemed like Nigeria was getting 3-4 shots every possession.

What, no tactics? If we lose in the real thing, I'll be embarrassed :(.

Stiil do not get why Britain chose group B..Either Tunisia or Nigeria is easier to beat than China, judging from this game.

Great Britain's choices at the time of the draw
A - Tunisia, France, USA, Argentina
B - China, Australia, Brazil, Spain
They did not know who from the qualifiers will qualify. If I were GB I'd make the same choice.
