Even Walkup and Calathes will look like a toddler against him XD

I really intended to travel to Greece just to watch the final game.

I might go also but it's in Piraeus... :p
If I hear some compliments for Walkup and trash talk for Papapetrou or Mitoglou I might say something and who knows will I be able to walk out of the gym on my own after that:D

Don't worry, it may be in SEF but there will be as many PAO fans as Oly fans. Make sure you will support Greek NT and you will be ok..:p

That's the thing, I am not quite sure I would support Greece hahaha

Thanasis had an achilles torn. I would have written that his career might be over with 31 but I guess he had never one. :D

A bit unlucky there for Thanassis. He missed the opportunity of a lifetime to go to the Olympics. But he can recover by next season. He should consider going to Europe. He’s got a few years where he can contribute in a EL team. He has already had an NBA experience as well as a title.

You are kidding right?

There are 12 Greek players who had an active role in the EL play offs. Highest level of EL basketball. These are the results based on EL play off performance.

Sloukas 27 mins, 15,2 points, 5,7 assists
Calathes 29,5 mins 11,8 points, 4,8 assists
Mitoglou 27,5 mins, 9,8 points
Papanikolaou 23, 5 mins, 10 points
Rogkavopoulos 21 mins, 13.7 points
Walkup 25 mins, 4 points, 4,8 assists
Papagiannis 22 mins, 6,8 points
Dorsey 18,5 mins, 9,6 points, 1 assist
Papapetrou 22,5 mins, 10 points
Kalaitzakis 5 mins, 1,6 points
Larentzakis 7,5 mins, 1,8 points
Kostas 3,5 mins, 1,2 points

I leave out the players who do not have an active role. Either Dorsey or Walkup will not be on the final roster. Since you have game organisers like Calathes and Sloukas, I would go for Dorsey who is a scorer.

So that makes 11 active EL play off players on the Greek NT. Very evenly spread from big men to point guards.

Giannis is the NBA player which will be added should he decide to play. Thanassis is out. That leaves one open spot for someone like Mantzoukas, Toliopoulos, Charalampopoulos, Lountzis.

I think you completely forgot about Rogkavopoulos.

I have some objections:
- I don't think that Dorsey will be called instead of Walkup. I believe a move like that would cause further tensions about Thomas' questionable acquisition of citizenship.
- I can see a good chance that Sloukas will not (eventually) participate. He's had two injuries this year.
- I think that Kalaitzakis' roster spot is not a given but because what a team needs from it's 11th-12th player is some minutes of energy and hustle, I would give him the spot over someone like Toliopoulos who has a really good year but unfortunately is a worse fit imo.
- We are not great at PF so maybe Charalampopoulos would be the best fit for the last spot?

I did forget about Rogkavopoulos. I added him on the list.

I think we need Kalaitzakis defensive enery. Especially since Thanassis is out. It's probably going to be Walkup, but I believe we need Dorsey more.

It really depends how we build the team. Having the reigning defensive player of the year in Walkup, Papapetrou/Papanikolaou at SF, Giannis (everywhere :p) we have a very solid team defensively. Unfortunately Walkup is not a good shooter but I can see a lineup of Walkup, Sloukas, any of the Paps, Giannis, Papagiannis being decent on both ends of the floor.

Giannis didnt finish the season and said himself just starting running little by little now.

Im would be suprised that news will come in month that Giannis isnt healthy enough to play (because Bucks will make pressure too to fully heal)

When Doncic i have no doubt will play one way or another.

It might be very difficult, if they make Finals, because his knee is not exactly 100%.

Giannis wants to play at the Olympics. In order to do that he needs to team up with the rest. He seems to be in great shape.

Why should we call Walkup again? We have already plenty of native greek players that shoot the brick out the basket's soul. Maybe that's the why they naturalized him because he matches so well to the nature of the typical greek basketball player,

IDK but Dorsey has Greek heritage and is a great shooter.

Walkup made sense when Sloukas and Calathes were not part of the team. Greece could naturalise a center, if anything.

Sloukas, Calathes, Kalaitzakis, Larentzakis, Toliopoulos is a great line up. We don't necessarily lack guards. Walkup or Dorsey could help the team, but it's not that Greece lacks someone in the guard position.

National team games approaching, you know what time it is: fasoulaki is back in business!
