Disgraceful that he strung them along for so long...disgraceful that they didn't give up on him earlier.

Britain looking pretty good, though they're mostly doing it against Parker who's playing limited minutes. France are a completely different team without him.

England and Scotland deciding to keep GB alive without Wales. Good for them.

Great news for the future of British basketball. Though basketball was been played in Britain for decades, the sport is only now getting the recognition and funding it deserves, so to roadblock that progress as the Welsh authorities almost did would have been a travesty. However, I hope both federations allow Welsh born players a chance to play for GB if they haven't registered or competed for the Welsh National Team.

Hi! Im doing profiles for every player in London for my blog, and I needed some help with some of your players. I know the big names, but havent seen much of Mike Lenzly and Kyle Johnson. Could you please tell me some of his strenghts and weaknesses? THANKS A LOT!

Wow...the British just got beat by Tunisia earlier today, 73-69 (granted, Deng and Joel Freeland were DNPs). They're really struggling at this stage of their preparation. I wasn't expecting the British to be world beaters heading into London but I was expecting a little more competitiveness, especially with how long this squad has been practicing together. They don't really have an identity right now and I doubt the issues are going to be corrected before the tournament begins. If I were Coach Finch, I would basically run my offensive sets through Mensah-Bonsu and Freeland on the post and play Deng and Sullivan on the wing for set-up shots or drives. Additionally, I would have Andrew Lawerence orchastrating the majority of ball possession while he's on the floor. EVERYONE else would would concentrate on tangibles like rebounding, blocking out, defending and occasionally scoring if the opportunities are right. GB has to play efficient basketball to have a chance to at least qualify for the knock-out round, which means players' roles must be defined with the utmost certainty. Typically, teams that are not athletically gifted or don't possess the tact that more seasoned units have must rely on slowing the tempo down (longer possessions on offense), making sound decisions with the basketball, and not allowing the opposition to "leak" out on fastbreaks. If Britain can somehow implement this strategy, given the personale on their roster, they might be able to get out of the first round and the rest is gravy.

Britain quite sadly are extremely dependent on Deng, often their strategy seems to be get him the ball and hope for the best. Without him, I'd say quite comfortably they were the worst team in the tournament. Even with him, making the knockout stage is looking rather doubtful to me. They can beat China, but I feel they're definitely the underdog against Australia.

GB is facing some serious injury problems...

Clark, Freeland and Lenzly are all injured right now. Clark picked an ankle injury and Freeland sustained a knee injury. Both of them went back to UK for tests. Clark's injury seems to be more serious and might keep him out of the Olympics. Mike Lenzly has suffered a torn groin muscle. He is doubtful for the Games, too.

Van Oostrum, Brian-Amaning and Adegboye are the candidates to join the squad, if needed...

Freeland is OK to play after his tests on his knee.

Lenzly and Clark are increasingly doubtful. Finch will not name the final 12-men roster before the technical meeting, Friday 12:00am.

They are the host which counts a lot in the Olympics, and they also have talented players. Let's just wait and see. UK does play similar to China, somewhat athletic, inconsistent, very turnover prone, perhaps slightly better on rebounds. Should be a good game.

Great Britain now #23 for the men's World Rankings, up 20 spots. For the women rankings, they are now #24, up 25 spots.

Any news of the aftermath in Baumann's plea for funding? Time is ticking....
