I agree with you. Greece's game against Serbia was a wake-up call that there are still some issues to sort out before the WC (and I'm not talking about the fight ). The game against the USA will tell us a lot about how Greece will be able to handle top-shelf competition: teams that apply aggressive defensive pressure, have a deep bench and superior athleticism. I hope it will show Greece is as strong as many of us hope.

I agree that we have looked "Lithuanian" against weaker opponents. But we didn't look Lithuanian against Serbia. Because of the fight, there hasn't been any analysis of the performance of the two teams on this forum.

Serbs upset us.It was a good lesson.Ivcovic wanted that victory very badly.Our team was not mentally prepared for this imo.

Neither the Serbs play brilliant. In fact the last few times Greece and Serbia played it was "ugly" games. Somehow both teams they forget their bb and try to win it on pure physical strength. I may be wrong but do consider it.

Well Serbs know us from the inside out though, better than anyone else (even their coach speaks Greek just fine, they know everything about us and our weaknesses of course). And still i am not convinced that they are any better than us, we simply played our worst game and they played probably the best from the matches i have seen. That won't necessarily happen again though. They lost to Canada, we are definitely a better team imo.

the final score doesn't tell you that but that game wasn't a walk in the park for US either..
btw. I can't remember any US team playing so much zone defense like this team is..

I am thinking the Greek pick and roll will slice USA into a thousands cuts, and baskets. If Lithuanians can drive in for layups and dunks against USA today, what will Greeks do?

I really expected more from US team. They're gonna have to improve a lot if they want to make it to the final.

I know Curry was recovering from an injury, but why did Love play so little time? I thought he would be more important in the team, since they only have him, Chandler and Odom in the paint.

Greece managed to stay close because 5 minutes before the end Serbia had 13 FT's, Greece had 34..
Serbia got 3 technical fouls, Greece none etc.
I'm not going to create a new dispute over it, it is a simple fact..
with the way game was played, on neutral ground it would probably be 5-10 point serbia win..
