Ataman can be truly annoying, but never boring.

I just read an interview on basketdergisi, where he says the target for this year is the EL title, and F4 would not be satisfactory. Typical Ataman.

notes:
- budget is 9m USD, 8.5m USD is spent so far
- wanted to keep McCollum, but he's gone.
- "Krstic is our biggest gamble. But he's healthy now, and he's the best center in Europe when in shape"
- Goudelock was almost done deal, then he went to Maccabi for a lower offer.

I think he also said they sought to keep Lasme before the weed incident arose
 
Wow Guys, you declared that your budget will be something around 7mln, then I saw that you guys will spend like 9 millions just on the roster... I thought that you will be our (Zalgiris) close rivals, but with Dentmon, Smith, Kristic, Tyus, Daye, Micov and Diebler your somethere in the middle. But I think you will have problems having so much players that like to have the ball 90% of the time. What do you think about Zalgiris roster? It is completed and it looks like that:
PG Westermann(SG), Pangos(SG), Lekavicius, Valinskas(SG)
SG Seibutis(SF), Milaknis(SF)
SF Ulanovas, Lipkevicius
PF Jankunas, Motum, Hartestein(SF)
C Lima, Kavaliauskas(PF), Javtokas

Zalgiris has experienced players in the team. Javtokas, Jankunas, Seibutis and Milaknis... Will be good games played at home.
 
Galatasaray interested in Tibor Pleiss after Krstic decided to retire.

David Pick says we are interested in Pleiss to replace Krstic, Mavro is out of radar for now. Imo, both is not enough for TOP8 level, which is supposed to be our realistic goal.
 
Pleiss as a center is a good name with right combinations but Galatasaray is a below zero defence team. Even Udoh & Vesely duo cannot help you imo. Anyway best luck
 
gala played 2 friendly games against khimki yesterday and today. they won both of them but for some reason matches were not broadcasted anywhere like the previous friendly games. so we know nothing about the team, have only statistics so far which is far from enough for us to understand the capacity of the team.
 
Galatasaray did not start well in the Euroleague.


Next game vs Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade (October 21, 19:00 CET)

I have no problem with his circus style management in Gala, but he is damaging other Euroleague and Turkish clubs' future transfer chances with public attacks like this, singling out players & deflecting the blame.

this is a recurring scenario every year, but somehow GS keeps signing lots of expensive players.
I doubt EL can suspend any team this season, though, it will destroy the league itself and its image.

Gs is also there as the last Eurocup winner and probably will not join next year. It would be meaningless to suspend them.
 
Worst case scenario, they release a few players and sign some D-League guys (at least one of which who will probably be quite good) and Suacan Piskin and chug along to the end of the season. There will be no consequences. :)
