Norwood is much like Japeth. Oozing with potential. Has the height, built and athleticism to be really something special.
but like japeth, he is unassuming. almost painfully shy. and like what one forumer said, he looked nervous at the start of the charity game. i believe his alleged nervousness was also one of the reasons why he almost didn't make the powerade team. and it's maybe the reason why he didn't get heavy minutes in tianjin.
norwood is obviously underachieving. he needs to build up his confidence. i dare say he should even get a swagger. and i think the best way to get this is through toroman's training. put under a defined system, norwood's talent and skills will be utilized in the most efficient way possible.
I really believe he can be the starting PG of smart gilas. i hope it's true that he was really looking at the smart gilas huddle na parang na-iinggit and thinking of the what-if's. we can really use norwood in our NT. and norwood can use the training to revive his career that seems to be going nowhere.

I think Gabe Norwood's game isn't improving much in the PBA..I think he needs to have the challenge of having taller opponents.But I guess Gabe will have commitment with the PBA until he is a free agent.

Perhaps in due time when all of the Smart-Gilas players completed their tour of service for flag and country and make themselves available for the draft, the PBA will rise again from mediocrity and validates its claim as the premier professional league in the Philippines, where the very best plays among the very best. There's nothing wrong about an institution like the PBA only the people trying to ruin it.

The problem is he wasn't playing his natural position in Rain or Shine Team. The Elasto Painters already has three point guards(don dulay, ty tang and marcy arellano). Who's going to be cut from this team to be able to put gabe in point guard position? Also, they don't have natural small forwards there. If gabe will improve his perimeter shooting, he's a big threat in the perimeter.

nope the PBA wont allow that.. so I think we should concentrate on developing what we have than waiting for the PBA guys.. we have Baracael and Ramos(I think with the presence of Fajardo,Aguilar,Ballesteros and Rabeh this guy will slide to number 3)

It's a great development if it will occur in the near future. But if we do believe in this young squad, I don't think we'll wish to add some fine player from the Big League (If it's that big, really) to Smart Gilas. These guys will develop for sure. And who knows, one of them will be better than Gabe. Maybe Ababou? Well his my idol in SG. He should perform better.

Gilas does not need Norwood. But Norwood needs Gilas. SG could use him very efficiently. A player with skill like him should not be in the PBA.

if SG will get Norwood, he must strictly play the 1 guard position.. he has lots of advantages to that position. has a speed, height, good defender especially on the likes of wright, daghlas etc., good ballhandling. he can create mismatches on that.
