so, where is the no.1 overall pick? the 3rd? and etc..? it just proves that scoring is not the only stat that scouts look for... being a defensive player is i think another part of the game to look for...
Now, if, say, you're Gabe Norwood, or Japeth Aguilar, averaging less than 5 ppg. That means there are dozens of players out there averaging better than you are. So why should an NBA team pick you, instead of the dozens of players out there? Its really a hard sell.
the players that you mentioned were highely touted prospects and were recruited to play in the NBA but they declined because they know they will just languish in team benches because of their style of plays.interxavierxxx said:not really...
you see, Dejan Bodiroga of Serbia never played in the NBA but still he is seen by many as the best player Europe has ever produced. THere are a lot of good players NOT in the nba such as:
Dikoudis of Greece
Vasiliss Spanoulis of Greece
Kortuglu of Turkey
Basile of Italy
Papaloukas of Greece
Pozzeco of Italy
Rudy Fernandez of Spain
Oh yeah, if you'll notice. The lineups of most latin American basketball powerhouses are the same since 8 years ago.

but hey, devean george and lamont strothers came all the way from ncaa div 3 to land a team in the nba.
i guess it boils down to 1 practice game. if he gets invited to play for an nba team in the offseason, he should give it all in that one game and play a heck of a game just to impress the coaches..
although the best basketball players in the world are in the nba (and gabe is not among the world's best), we could also speculate that not all nba players deserve to be there..
tabuse? batere menk? anyone?![]()
He is officially Turkish, although born in Albania. He went to Turkey at a very young age and developed his game there.ankle breaker said:Ermal Kurtoglu played college basketball at Seminole College in Seminole, Oklahoma, USA. He entered the NBA Draft in 2003 but was not selected. He would have been the first Albanian in the NBA if he was just drafted.
i think he's a dual passport holder. 1 for turkey and 1 for albania, right?rikhardur said:He is officially Turkish, although born in Albania. He went to Turkey at a very young age and developed his game there.
Yes, I think that is the case. His albanian surname Kuqo often comes up with the rest btw.ankle breaker said:i think he's a dual passport holder. 1 for turkey and 1 for albania, right?
if he wanted to play in the NBA, he should play in the NBDL instead. who knows he can show much on his defense and get a call up from any of the 30 teams.Lebron23 said:I think Gabe Norwood should try out in the Continental Basketball Association, or in the USBL. ( United States Basketball League)
