By Danny Fortson, you meant fat undersized albeit high-motor big? Judging from the numbers when I looked him up, he looked like a half-decent role player.

As for Lofton, I noticed that he's not exactly rising up draft boards. As high as the mid-first to as low as undrafted. The mean was 2nd round. Kid was a good FIBA player, and he couldn't get that high on the draft boards? I'm kinda mystified.

Danny Fortson NCAA career averages 18.8 pts and 8.7 rebs - enough to make him the 10th overall pick in 1997, Lofton Jr so far in 2 seasons 13.1 pts and 8.2 rebs and yes both him and Lofton are listed at 6'7 and weigh between 260-270

Lofton is playing in the wrong era, he has no playmaking skills and he can't guard perimeter players, its also not a given if he can guard NBA 4s and 5s. I'm not surprised at all that he's not figuring in the mock drafts given that he's not a good fit for the modern NBA.

Another Discovery

A 6’8” 17-year-old boy received his first dose of Covid-19 vaccine last November 12 at Cotabato City Central Pilot School.

The national government recently included the vaccination of pediatric age groups 12 to 17 years old to give them "extra layer of protection" against the virus.

Vaccination saves lives! And for his case, nag pa vax lang, na recruit pa.

Post went viral and reportedly, major schools in Mnila are now reaching out to his family

How come its only now that this kid was discovered? I mean in the advent & proliferation of social media, everything right now can be noticeable & accessible. The kid's extra ordinary height should make him very noticeable. Naglaro naman siguro yan sa mga inter-schools prior to the pandemic so people should have noticed him.

Is this kid living in a very remote area where it might have not been noticed before?

Maybe because of a tremendous growth spurt in a short period of time? It's possible that he was a sub-six footer 2 years ago. But I don't really know, I'm just speculating.

Right we’ve been in quarantine for 2 years now. Kid got out of his lair and got discovered, maybe they hadn’t even noticed themselves he got taller.

AND NOW, HE WILL GO TO SAN BEDA. LOL

Looks like He is from Cotabato

"Brix Verzosa, 17, is 6-foot-8, wears size 20 shoes, and is committed to play for San Beda once high school basketball returns #vaxxed #teenprodigy"

Center ang laro niya," his mom shares."

"May nagpakilala sa amin sa coach ng San Beda, si coach Noli Mejos, tapos ayon, binigyan nila ng scholarship si Brix, at nagpadala ng mga gamit at sapatos, ngayon may nagagamit na siya," she said.

I see Abay in him. Hehe

I hope that he has decent mobility to be playable in Gilas. he can be used in u-18.

Hopefully, the kid can also play 4. That will help his playability if ever he gets promoted to the senior team.

I don't see him as a 3-4 but if he has good handles and lateral movement, why not?

4-5 seems more practical now though given his age. A reliable strong rebounding, low post big who can shoot from the outside and perimeter. Let's fucking go.

Same thoughts. He is not just tall, he also looks hefty in a good way. If he can turn himself to be the rich man's Bradwyn Guinto, I will be happy.

6'8" is actually a good enough size for a low-post 4. We produce more good low-post operators, that gives us another angle of attack. And a good body to box out, that's great.

If he does show some potential as a perimeter guy, that's just the cherry on top.

Based on his backstory. I believe he is tough.

The only question is his skill level. And Strengths and Weaknesses. I expected that he played as a Center in ligang labas due to his height. But I wonder if he is perimeter oriented or Post Oriented. Most likely he is post oriented though.

Hope he can be developed though.

PS: Jamskie have a good point. How come he was just recently discovered when he is playing in multiple "ligang labas". Hehe

Good find. I'm surprised there's no high light clips available. Usually you can find them in you friendly neighbourhood vloggers.

His mom shared that Brix started showing an unusual growth spurt when he was in Grade Four.

"Bata pa lang siya, angat na talaga 'yung height niya. Wala naman akong ginawang pagpapalaking iba kundi pagkain nang tama, at hinahayaan ko siya matulog," she said.

When he's not on the court, you'll probably spot Brix fast asleep.

"Mabait na bata si Brix, walang bisyo, pero tulog nang tulog, wala yatang araw na dumaan na hindi siya tulog nang tanghali," Janet continues.

Big-boned, the kid also weighs more than 100 kilograms
