Strike out Kamaka Hepa from the list.
Better for us to forget about him.
If our country can't even get those from the visayas region to join the jr national team training because of lack of funds,
then the possibility of having kamaka hepa to be here and represent our junior team is and will stay as just a dream.
Unless, kamaka hepa himself processes his passport/papers to be eligible in the future...

We already lost legit talents in Sedrick Barefield and Christian David..

Both in or above the talent level of Kobe Paras..They have the size too and plays well within a team but can also take over when they want to.

It would be nice to look back at this thread five years from now :)

How about bigs from the NCAA juniors like Mahinay and Bonalos?

Germy Mahinay, 6'6, SBC-Taytay, Grade 10 (not sure about age)
Miguel Bonalos, 6'5(?), SBC-Taytay, should be eligible for the u16

I'm guessing they're around 16 years old. Will put them in. Thanks!

I hope we produce at least two to three 7 footers on this list. Those 13,14 and 15 years old need to go to US to follow Kobe Paras path.

Probably we can add in the list, the 12 year old 6-5 Australian. He tried out to some HS teams but there was no takers. He is right part of Australian training Center.

More specifically, the Queensland basketball training center. He has a two-year committment to play for Queensland state after finishing the program. Earliest we can see him in a Batang Gilas jersey is three years from now. Hope his passport is already being processed.

So there is still a possibility he can play for RP youth even though Queensland is funding his training. We'll perhaps if he don't make sa Emus team.

Perhaps we can have our Fil Am prospect to play for our RP Youth 3x3 teams, it is a FIBA sanctioned tourney for national teams, where Kobe Paras , Thirdy Ravena played. That way we can already assured that they are FIBA eligible . Even if they are still raw, it's ok to waste one slot of the team on them, who knows they might be a gem someday.

Perhaps for next years 3x3 or in Youth Olympic Games, we can send the likes of Edu, Hepa and the likes. Para mabakuran ba. Anyway it is just a short tournament so they won't be out for so long from school or from their parents.

Nice suggestion....

Currently monitoring 2 German-Fil kids and 1 Dutch/German-Fil kid, but I haven't received permission from parents to post personal details yet. good news is that all 3 have PH passports.

the German-Fil kids are 12 and 11, and & 6'3 and 6'1 in height, both play as 2/3 position.

the other kid is 14 and stands 6'5 and plays the wing position, but only started balling since last year.

all 3 are attending local basketball clubs, very systematic training. hopefully they to stick playing basketball.

With this discoveries of tall kids, the sbp need to put up school exclusively for Basketball players. I don't want to see their potential to be wasted. Paging Dennis Pineda and Many Pangilinan put a school only for Basketball and hire foreign coaches to teach our kids.

hopefully they become 6'6,6'4 and 6'9 maybe future shooting guards and small forwards.

even with the turn of events involving no sharing of players RP basketball looks bright.I remember posting when Fajardo and Slaughter was just 16-17 years old and feeling optimistic. But they did service to the country even for a short period of time.I just hope we could maximize the national team stint of this upcoming kids just like Iran's Heddadi and Bahrami who was playing for Iran since U-17 squad.

I was speaking with one of the fathers, he said he will fully support his son to develop his skills in basketball, but he is quite anxious about how things are being ran in terms of development and unity of ball clubs in the Philippines. quoting him he said 'very unsystematic and no unity'.

he said he was a fan of the Danny Seigle and would like his son to play like DS.

I just hope that these kids stick to basketball, and then maybe we can have a pinoy Dirk Nowitzki.
