Filipino Players in Foreign Leagues

There's a difference between getting coached by Coach Remy of Miami and getting coached by Coach Tab. Coach Remy focuses on the personal skills of the player while Coach Tab focuses on the team. Kai still needs to improve on some of his skills sets and maybe that should be his priority before he plays at NBL

Apply what you learn.. game experience is the best teacher.. how can you use what you learned if you don't use it?

Let Kai focus on on his NBL preparations. It's very clear he has higher priorities over Gilas.

If he wants to play for us over the summer, then he needs to go through "tryouts". No special treatment.

The problem is kai este ewp told everyone that he's free to play for ACQ, OQT and asia cup then all of the sudden "Nope?"

Nzl breakers vs 36ers game around 3:30pm manila time. Probably the last chance you'll see them play and glimpse of coach henry's system

De facto tryout.

Yung pinaka frustrating part lang siguro is that since the postponement or reschedule of the 3rd window from Feb to June, everyone was expecting Kai to suit-up with Gilas in June with adequate period of training with the team/pool, only to be told by Kai's handlers that they never guaranteed Kai's stint in the 3rd window. Kumbaga eh pina-asa lang talaga tayo.

What's frustrating is the equivalent of being told that his workouts/training is more important. Probably more important than his stint with Ignite.

Kai needs to hire a better PR manager.

Like I said a few days back, I'm honestly fed up with all this "atras-abante" news of Kai joining or not.

On game day, if his name is on the roster then good. If not then fine.

I suspect that the 36ers really want to train in Miami first....in public, they will say that they are supportive of Kai playing in the FIBA games.

Just like Ignite. In pubic, they were saying that they were supportive of Kai playing for Gilas and that they will encourage it. However, when Kai actually went back to the Philippines and came back in time for the Ignite games, Ignite suddenly changed its mind and said that he cannot play anymore.

Lol nbl is fiba friendly(all of teams are). They ain't smc

Lets all admit it.

Most of us here just want Kai to play in an official 5 on 5 game in order for us to evaluate his play level now.

As sir analyzed said, 2 years no official 5V5 gamr for Kai.

That puts a lot of posters here eager to see Kai Play.

The Worst Case Scenario I can see is Kai will not play in 3rd window, but will play in OQT and Asia Cup.

And after that at all cost, I hope Kai's 36 games in NBL will be played.

Webster bros and Delaney playing decent ..
Delaney will be a problem if he plays in the Asia cup

Yeah, this is my primary reason for wanting him to play this coming window.

Based on his performance, I can properly speculate his likely role in the 36ers lineup.

The question apparently no one here is asking: is Kai good enough to crack the 36ers rotation?

Kobe dealt with this problem in Creighton and there's no reason not to believe that Kai may face this issue.

delaney, te rangi, izayah le’afa will be a problem to teams..

hope breakers retain colton iverson. and bring in josh selby

Its the length all 6'6 ish and athleticism of Delaney , Te Terangi , Wetzel 6'9 , that is uniquely rare that will be difficult for Asian teams
Even 6'3 PG Izayah with his strength is a problem.
The width and strength.. combined with the skil and mobility is really at a different level

As to centers, here's the options
Wetzel
Salt
Timmins
Harrison

https://i.stuff.co.nz/sport/basketb...s-thriving-on-centre-stage-with-otago-nuggets

Of course remains to be seen who will join. I think loe, Webster bros , Abercrombie, Fotu will all skip.

Delaney is a possibility, I think ili, Ngatai and Prewster are options

I should move this to FIBA asia thread

No Alex Pledger, though. He is undergoing chemotherapy.

Yup it's weird all of sudden there are an abundance of legit centers

Guards - Izayah, Ili
Wings, te Rangi, Ngatai, Prewster, Davidson
Forwards , Delaney, Wetzel
Bigs , Timmins , Salt

If Australia's Asia cup team isn't at least B team, and NZ sends players above , it would be a disappointment if Nz does not win Gold.. just my opinion

U
BTW u can really see the benefits of spending 4 years in Div 1, that's where all these new additions are from.

Well, obviously it remains to be seen.

And what is our definition of "part of rotation"?

Atleast 7th or 8th Man? Atleast 10 minutes?

But yes, Gilas Performace may give adelaide staff an idea on where they put Kai in their rotation
