Are you saying Tab didnt develop Dwight? Dwight was practically a nobody in college. He became Gilas go to guy. He had guys like Toroman saying he could already play in the Euro league. Dwight literally became somebody during his stint in Tabs Gilas.

The opposite, basically the program should treat KQ the same way it treated Dwight under Tab.

Still hasn’t improved his defensive court awareness, Quiambao. Wouldn’t say he’s a poor defender but he’s got a lot to improve on. Right now he’s a tweener on that end—too stiff to guard the perimeter yet too small to man the post.

yeah his defense leaves a lot to be desired but he still produced 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists which is decent. Game would've been closer if the other world import didn't go down

The difference is he's getting a lot of PT and touches, something he might never get in Gilas. People are expecting a lot of things from players who barely plays 10 minutes a games. I like him as a player buy he'll never come close to the player he's supposed to be if they're not getting minutes. And he's not the only one suffering from lack of burn.

But if that’s the production he has with more touches, he’s going to get hated quickly if he keeps chucking up shots while playing for Gilas.

He needs to adjust on his new role. Not all people can. Remember Gary David, Wright etc.

Tamayo with 34 points 8 rebounds and 3 steals in 31 minutes, too bad the rest of his team had a bad game

Javi GDL shooting 47% from 3s for the season is impressive. I'd include him as a gilas prospect.

Anyone have data on 3pt % leaders in the pba?

Edit: wow didn't realize Oftana shoots 46% on 7.8 attempts and Heading 39% on 6.5 attempts per game.

For analytical context, 40% from 3 is like shooting 60% from 2 (Shaq territory) = 10 attempts for both gets you 12 points.

FIBA is a different ball game. PBA players are lazy when it comes to defending the perimeter especially with close outs. It is what you do in FIBA is what matters.

Not only that...the fact that the 3-pt weapon isn't as utilized locally as much as in the rest of the world is interesting.

Like I said, 40% from 3 is the same as 60% from 2. It is harder to develop a 60% 2-pt shooter (Shaq territory efficiency) than it is to develop a 40% 3-pt shooter (even guys like Bruce Bowen, PJ Tucker make the grade). Especially since we do not have a steady supply of bigs or world-sized wings/forwards.

Perimeter defense sucks currently because there's not a lot of shooters (or shooting teams) to get defensive experience from.

According to a recent confirmation with the JKJ club, Javi Gomez's contract is one year. The JKJ club will have to think about renewing its contract with Gomez or re-recruiting Abando in May. Many fans of the JKJ club think that Gomez is the best option in terms of stability.

i was wary about saying LG's coach and Hyundai Mobis's coach look alike and sounding racist but just found out they're actually identical twins
