No one is overestimating current NBA players, they are in the NBA for a reason that much must be respected.
Scoring 11 points in an exhibition game doesn't mean Kai is already in NBA level. Mingxin Ju of Shanghai Sharks scored 9 points against Houston and no one is saying is already an NBA level talent - from what I watched Kai showed potential in developing to a better 3 point shooter (judging from his shooting form from his lone 3 point conversion) and he was able to use his length and jumping ability in the paint but aside from those he was sub par in terms of NBA level. it's just not me saying that, most of the basketball experts here and abroad have the same sentiments.

"He has three minutes in the tank," Bruton added. He also revealed that Kai "did not do well" in a fitness test conducted during a long off-season where Kai changed agents and did only shooting drills and workouts instead of actually playing.

when ewp focus on hyping instead of working kai’s weaknesses.. should’ve play in asia cup instead but yeah water under the bridge
I'd use the word experts loosely - experts also make mistakes.
I didn't say everything about Kai makes him NBA level; some of his skillset is. Length, jumping, 1v1 defense, 3 pt shooting. But the others need improvement (especially game sense), which is why I'm a proponent of him being developed through experience, and since CJ won't play him, that experience is denied him, because Kai at this point in time cannot contribute to "winning" basketball and CJ (or the higher ups) want to win. Which is not a bad thing, just a sad thing for me.
can Kai play in another professional league during off-season while under contract with Adelaide?
So what's the best path for Kai to improve? Continue with NBL or just sign to a another league somewhere else?

What Bruton said was coachspeak for the need to do five straight minutes of going hard at every possession and racing up and down the floor as if the fate of the universe were at stake.

Only three minutes haha? Come on noone trust this clown anymore every time he speaks about Kai.
Kai played 30 minutes versus Lebanon and 22 minutes against KSA. He didn't look gassed or tired when he was on the floor.
It's one thing on believing someone's words and another thing by actually seeing it for yourself.
The only way to believe him after all his pambobola haha is to play him 20 to 30 minutes and we will judge
based on Kai's actual game. We are not muppets to believe all his lies.
Different level of competition. It's easier to conserve your energy against patsies than heavyweights.

Read the article. The report says Sotto failed Adelaide 36ers fitness test.
Let?s not compare the Jordan and Saudi games. FIBA Asia and NBL are two different competitions. NBL is a higher level. And the Phoenix Suns game was an exhibition where majority of his minutes came about when 36ers already had a safe and substantial lead.
Kai has to compete with his Adelaide teammates (DJ, Franks, Harris et al) for playing time. While at Gilas he has no competition.
The next windows will be tricky for him as Ange is now back from injury. It will be interesting how Chot will split the time between the two.
