Filipino Players in Foreign Leagues

Kai's rebounding numbers are still lower than Hyrum Harris and they play comparable minutes.

Hyrum Harris beats Kai in just about every statistical category, this might be a reason why Coach CJ favours Harris over Kai.

Not the Asian HATE conspiracy theories lol.

Didn't say I agreed with the FB minions, but to dismiss the Asian HATE? NYC has one of the highest cases of Asian hate crime and you think it's still a conspiracy? Jeremy Lin in and out of his NBA career has been hated for being Asian but you think it's a conspiracy?

What did they call this again? Crab mentality? Self-flagellating Filipinos? Inferiority complex? Or do we still consider them as such when they want nothing to do with being Filipino anymore? :D Gamitin lang ang pagiging Pinoy when it's time to boast about cultural heritage to white people?

Re Mitch Mccaron: he's an NT level Aussie PG with loads of experience. That comparison is disingenuous and you know that deep down. But since you're a wallet, it's pointless trying to make my point.

Let's see... Kai has productive numbers with Chot at Gilas last window while Kouame is a disappointment last 2 window especially against NZL... Even Chot put Kouame as back up in case Brownlee's papers will be finish on time or not..... Anyway... Let's compare of Kouame's stint under Chot and Kai under Chot:

Kouame stats under Chot last 2nd window vs India and NZL:

5.5 PTS
6.5 REBS
1.5 TO
1.5 STL
1.5 BLKS
-4 +- ON 9 EFF RATING

Kai's stats under Chot last 4th window vs Lebanon and KSA

13 PTS
10.5 REBS
2.0 TO
3.0 BLKS
+9 +- ON 16 EFF RATING

Stats palang kita na that who is better... Don't tell me Chot is the reason but obviously nagkamali ka ng i cocompare mo... Kouame can't even dominate against his fellow FSA Diouf, while Kai already playing at the one of the highest level of competition...

Ange Kouame Fiba olympic qualifiers

13.5 ppg 5.5 RPG 1.5 bpg 13.5 eff

Kai sotto FIBA olympic qualifiers

9 ppg, 4.5 RPG, 0.5 BPG Eff 8.5

i don’t understand why people forgot how good kouame was during the asia cup qualifiers and olympic qualifiers.. he outplayed filip petrusev who eventually gets drafted by nba..

clearly, chot doesn’t know how to use kouame..

How about your Kouame only scoring 5.5 pts last 2nd window as a naturalized player? Is he good? BASH PA MORE!!!!!!

how many times people will tell you to control your temper? various people are telling you off.. how many times we warn you about this? commenting in tagalog.. can’t you reply in calming manner? the way you post invites trouble..

i wonder why kai doesnt get any much playing time? seems like his playing time has gone lesser and lesser.

1. better frontcourt players for the 36ers this season which Kai has yet to overtake in practice
2. kai is a liability in pnr defense
3. kid is basically unplayable in certain games due to matchup issues (re: boban only plays when his team is facing a center that he can guard at the post)
4. 36ers are gunning for the title, and if playing kai heavy minutes jeopardizes their chances, so be it, bench the kid

But Chot knows how to use Kai based on this stats... Or just Kouame is only good at Tab and nothing else? Hhhmmmm!!!!! I don't think Kouame will be good at other coaches...

how? and you don’t value ange kouame at all..

consider that ange has no basketball games played prior to february window..

chot likes NP who are blatche type who can carry him aka “buhat type” imports.. chot doesn’t know how to use a NP like ange..

anyway, just look on the bright side, kai gets to practice/scrimmage time with superior competition which will be beneficial for Gilas. Just think of Jermaine O'Neal who paid his dues playing backup to Sabonis, Rasheed and Brian Grant for 2-3 years before being traded to Indiana. In short Kai is currently paying his dues and should earn his minutes.

That ignite stint would have been the ideal situation for Kai. That's probably the only league/team that will give playing time for raw prospects

So what could i do? Agree what your want to believe? Bias ka din noh!!!! You're OK with other posters regarding against Kai, while if against your believes then warning? Cmon!!!! Be matured... You can ignore me if you want.. Kala mo takot ako noh!!!!!

No, what i’m saying you can have healthy argument with someone without you enticing trouble by showing some bad attitude..

you can exchange arguments all you want with someone else as long as you post in calmly manner without trouble and typing in tagalog and swearing at them and challenging fights.. remember what the big cat says few posts back?

In fairness to Kai he did well in his last Gilas stint. But I need to see him in more games to be sure he should be our starting center.

The NBAGL has a new team which hires mostly Latino players (Capitanes), maybe our Filipino players could get to play there since we have the same last names as Latinos hahah 🤔

Where is poster DAdmiral here? It would be interesting what would be his thoughts on Kai's career in the NBL now. Seems to me that guy has an expertise in Oceania Bball?

Yeah, Ping was a smarter defender and probably more athletic. Sorry, best comparison I got. Hahahahahaha.

yep ping was very athletic in his younger days, often played above the rim. that's why i thought he was like 6'7" back in the day because of how he played lol

Sonny Alvarado, Alvarado Segova, Solomon Mercado, Anthony de la Cruz, William Antonio, John Arigo. Lols

Thirdy with 13 pts and another win, over Ira Brown's Osaka team. San-en are now #1 in their district, and Thirdy is Top 10 in the B-League for assists.

I think the signing of Kanamaru has opened up Thirdy's game. Is that guy part of the Akatsuki 5, because his wrong-footed 3s are so interesting to watch. Unlike players like Ray Allen, Kanamaru doesn't need his feet set to get his shot off, like that G-League guy the Lakers signed for a few games (forgot his name). It's like his feet only take care of the force, his upper body rotates by itself to create positioning to compensate as he shoots, so in-game he almost always shoots in a weird pose if his guard tightly sheds the screen.

Meanwhile Kobe Paras is having his 2nd decent game with 13 pts 2 reb 2 ast 5 blk for the Altiri Chiba. Roosevelt Adams isn't doing so well now.

Dave retired from IBN after being fed up with SBP politics, though once in a while he posts here @ IBN

Clarkson is the new Castro and Blatche. Chot will live or die with JC.

Guys, gave out a couple bans. DONT get baited into insulting each other. Trust that the mods will deal with any personal attacks. Peace

What does that Asian hate happening in NYC have to do with a Filipino Kid not getting minutes in an Australian basketball league?

Mitch McCarron is not even in the B squad for the Aussie National team, he will never represent the Boomers in an Olympic Games LOL.

He is a 6'2 do it all guard who is a far superior rebounder than the 7'3" Filipino Generation GOAT Kai Sotto. Doesn't that really tell you something LOL.

Two separate things lang. Asian hate is not a conspiracy, but I don't think it has anything to do with the NBL or Coach CJ (though it is prevalent in their fanbase, because even before Kai got officially signed to Adelaide the Hoops forum was already looking down on Asians lol, they didn't even like the Zhou Qi signing).

Mitch is more grown than Kai and more experienced; that's what I'm trying to say. Compare young players to young players, not young players to seasoned vets. Your comparison is bad because of that alone. When people like Peezones bring up Pau Gasol or some other player, they're talking about potential not actual production. You don't pick up counterarguments that aren't convenient to you, like the Marc Gasol before 23 avg 4 reb that you never touched after someone mentioned it, instead just pushing Mitch as if it's a good point. Tapos yung isa kapit tuko rin (Trans: only supports the invalid point because it supports his side of the argument).
