Filipino Players in Foreign Leagues

I hope Kai can become our RUDY Gobert and to pattern his game to that player is more realistic.

Im referring to Kai of Gilas who easily scored against Ratliffe and how effective Kai's PNR was with JC. Kai will have no chance of doing it with ADL. Sokor and Leb are as good as any NBL team.

I'm calling those who are saying that Kai will be too slow and inferior against Wemby and Chet. Chet was just gifted with the U19 MVP but Lofton was the best player in that US team. Even Jaden Ivey could contest as the second-best player while Wemby did outplay Chet. An NBL player Kai against those competitions would be something. NZ breakers and NZ NT mainstay bigs had a hard time against 19yr old Kai.

Wemby may have dazzled fans but Kai if given opportunities could also produce such numbers. Just imagine ADL kai against that ignite white big and if Kai will be given 20 attempts. That ignite big who defended Wemby will be at a disadvantage in a wider NBA court with softer rules.

What sets wemby and chet from Kai these days is they have all the opportunities and hype. Kai should have not left Rob Johnson. He was the coach who really believe in Kai and who would have given Kai the opportunities same as those given to Wemby and Chet

He's playing against NBL pros who are at least a tier above them. It's tougher to score against them. Kai is NBL level. Not even 1 of those guys got invited to play in the NBL

Kai is at his best protecting the paint even though he still lacks strength. Those guys aren't traditional bigs. It's a match up problem especially as you said in a NBA setting with wilder courts and more relaxed rules for the offensive players.

He doesn't need to jack up shots. I agree with Gobert play style. He is more effective playing that way with his current build.

His offense just need some polishing, hopefully with some Maturity he can be a complete package in offense. It's his Laterals that is lacking.

The issue is not dependent on performance in practice but CJ's penchant of playing vets over young players. He doesnt have the patience for his yound players and outright remove them once they commit errors. DJ maybe better offensively as of the moment but Kai is way better on the defensive end. Also, Kai's opportunities were mere garbage plays and why would you give Kai post plays when he still lacks enough strength these days. He should be given face-up high post plays and passes when he rolls. I am not a fan of lob passes because it would be too risky and I would prefer Kai receiving passes when he rolls. Drop passes would also be ideal. A roller Kai would be too difficult to stop.

Regarding Wemby and Chet's speed over Kai, Kai can keep in step with guards then how much more wemby and chet.haha Wemby has been taking around 30shots a game and his field goal percentage isnt great. His output was just because of mere volume and if his percentage isnt great then most likely he will have lesser accuracy against players his size. Wemby is just a more gritty and hungrier Bolbol. Same playstyle and just a bit heavier.

Does wemby and chet's speed similar to usain bolt or at least a ja morant for Kai not to keep in step?haha the ignorant take is too blatant. A 7'3 durant will still be a non-guarantee sure thing in the NBA. Unless he will be a big more than playing as an SF then he will be the same as others. Give bolbol 30 shots and he will give those numbers or better. Wemby will still be a mere experiment and remain to be seen.

Agree with everything you said. Ahhh finally some music to my ears lol.

Another thing, I am not saying that Kai will totally shut down Wemby.

All I'm saying is, if Wemby becomes great teams in the NBA will need 7 footers to at least limit his scoring output.

Kai is decent and mobile enough to keep up with Wemby. Just by staying in front of Wemby and bother his shot.

It is better that putting a 6'10" guy who can't even reach and block Wemby's face. Check out that 6'10" center of ingnite and how far his arms reach limit when

Wemby pull up for a jump shot.

Yes, Kai gilas is better than Kai of Adelaide. Maybe because Kai is given enough room to operate with green lights.

Unlike in Adelaide where his role is just to set screens, rebound and block shots.

I hate my name right now haha.

Mitch Macarron and Harris will be released for boomers and tall blacks respectively this november FIBA window.

I think there will be no issue if Chot and Wasser sports insist for Kai to also play for Gilas in this window unless

CJ and 36ers are selfish and really wants to ruin Kai's future. I think they are super milking Kai from his supporters. They can't afford to lose him haha.

Wenbayana played in euroleague last season for tony parker's team. He had not played that much.

He was benched by his coach most of the time. He also got minor injuries during that time. But even if he has no injury he wasn't utilised by his coach.

Most of the time he will play 5 minutes and sometimes DNP haha. He only got decent minutes of 16 to 28 in couple of games during the end of the season when his coach already

knows they won't make it to the championship or play offs haha.

Wemby got frustrated of his coach and leave. Now, he transferred to Metro92 which only plays in France.

They are only playing once a week. More time for Wemby to get stronger and improve his game and lesser chance of getting him injured.

This team is built around him. The focal point of offense and defense is Wemby. That is why, Wemby looks so good in that exhibition match versus Ignite haha.

He will also be playing for france senior team this upcoming FIBA qualifers for the first time.

LOL Kai can't even keep in step with Landale and got blitzed by Poku

looks like someone fell thru the cracks of DU30's tokhang, have you tried rehab?

Explain to me why are you angry?

Stop insulting me like you are superior being.

Why all anti Kai Sotto in this thread loves to trash talks us?

I mean what's the point?

He doesn't play with urgency is what it looks like to me. Maybe he lacks fire or passion or maybe he's pacing himself I dunno. He doesn't always go all out. Yeah I hated when Ayton would settle for a fade away than taking it strong or his stupid layups than dunking the ball. I hope he doesn't end up like another Suns legend bigman Bender who has all the talent in the world but is too passive and timid for his own good. Alex Len was also bad but at least he has a mean streak in him and is willing to get dirty (too bad he has terrible hands).

How good is his new agency again? Is Chot/ Eastwest out of the picture?

Maybe he's trying to avoid injuries? It's speculation at this point.

Have no idea about his new agency. Though I'm pretty sure EWP is still there.

It's a spoiled rich boy hungry for attention and not used to people arguing against him. Just leave that loser alone, he's probably the same person who made fake accs trolling Peezones on twitter and the fake foreign fan who used Kai's jersey as a foot rug.

Everything he says is pure bile and I find it healthy to just ignore him.

guys IBN has an ignore user function, click the name or open the user's profile, then click 'Add to Ignore List'. it's really handy

Looks like our kid Balty is having a hard time communicating with his teammates. In this video, you will see how he struggled with his English. Maybe, this and the fact that his team's frontline is loaded with world imports are the reasons why his coach is benching him.

Great news. Ive been saying this for a long time but the goal shouldnt be the BLeague or the KBL. Of course money talks so we cant blame the players but talent wise top tier EU is another level.

1GDL is the first step. Will Navarro, AJ Edu, and Dalph Panopio could be the others since they are also considered Europeans.

damn, this is sad, and to think he studied in a university with a lot of english speaking conos.

I believe that his coach is benching him not because he is not good. He was benched and will be benched because there is a language barrier between him and his teammates.

Hopefully, more can play in Europe in the near future, starting with the U16 and U18 kids. Can some of them make it, though?

Is Bulgaria part of EU? If yes, then Konov is covered. This is a good development.

Dwight Ramos should play in Europe... He will not level up playing in Japan only and hopefully Kai Sotto will entertain Euro leagues after his Adelaide stint...

Yeah, he should. He'll be 25 next year, approaching his prime. So, he should get into better leagues. He's really good in Asian competition, so ibang challenge naman.

Turkish and ACB are possible but I'm not sure he gets noticed by the top teams: Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Fenerbah?e.
