Interest does not equate to drafting him when available during the draft. However, it is infinitely better than not being in the radar of NBA teams. Hopefully Kai performs much better than how Thirdy is performing in the B League.

I agree. but my belief was that if kai was eligible and declared for d 2021 draft, he will be signed (standard or two-way) regardless if he will be drafted or not in d 2nd round and will become d first full-blooded Filipino to play in d nba.
some nba teams have no first or second-round picks in d 2021 draft (because of trades), and a few may not have any pick in both rounds. but all teams can sign an undrafted player. and i was hoping that the dallas mavericks (who love international players, 6 active players in current roster are non-americans) will get him.

Seems like 2022 draft has more bigman prospects than 2021. Frontrunners are holmgren, banchero and nzosa.

You have to understand that people like Shams are also invested in there sources. So if someone with connections wanted Shams to leak this than it would happen. Its hard to tell though since we dont really know if any agent facilitated this.
