Filipino Players in Foreign Leagues

I really hope Kai will make it for the philippines

Japan have players drafred already in nba.

China have.

Iran have

Even India Have

Especially, I cannot think of any homegrown Filipino next in line to Kai.
 
For the record Givony predicted Singh would be drafted in 2015 as he got a report that Singh would be in attendance at the draft venue. It is the reason why ESPN included Singh in its last mock in 2015

It would be senseless for a player to attend the draft unless he was very confident of being drafted, the embarrassment is too much if you're in attendance and get snubbed ..
 
Kai's camp released news that they have received a letter from the Cavs to train with them.

This is actually not a good sign for his chances of being drafted. As the Cavs essentially are disclosing intent and their cards unmindful that other teams will even care.

It is however a very good sign the Cavs want to invite him for the summer league and their g league team

This is what I was talking about. Getting news then spinning it into negativity. In what world does receiving a letter mean a bad chance of being drafted? Receiving a letter is just that, receiving a letter. Wag na lagyan ng chismis as if you're in Kai's camp too.

Changwon LG Sakers and Seoul Samsung Thunders are set to recruit Filipino players. In addition, Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus, Wonju DB Promy, and Anyang KGC are considering recruiting Filipino players. Verano is one, and who is the other sureball recruit?

Changwon and Seoul tried to recruit Abando and Dave, respectively. It will be interesting to see who their backup plans are.

Kobe might not make it. Remember he has foreign blood in him.. heard he has feelers but when they know the background of his parents especially jackie. That ends the feelers

Japeth, i think is not going anywhere as there were news 2 months ago, that he already was re- signed by Boss Longhair to contract extension matching the offer by a BLeague team.

Well 1st of all nothing said here in IBN influences Kai's chances, so all indicators and signs are fair game. There is no forumn rule of inappropriate suggestions that could tarnish a player’s chances. It's an open forum where all ideas are welcome. Speculation of each teams draft intent while of course not verified is fair game especially for the draft . Where so little is known of what teams will do. It's actually the fun part for fans.

If I speculate the Banchero will not be drafted by OKC cause of press press release that he didn't like them, that's totally fair game. Even if not proven. We're not obligated to anyone's camp not to share speculation.
Now contrary to what your suggesting, based on my analysis and experience a team that has draft intent for a player really keeps secretive their plans ( read the Spurs article on this and numerous others where leakage of draft intent is really kept private..
 
If invites to train long term (not private workout) with an NBA team is meaningless . Show me any sure draft prospect (regularly in top 40 for mocks ) receive an invite from a specific team to train long term.

If Chet received a similar invitation from Oklahoma , it would be breaking news. It's not trivial at all .

Note Kai already had his private workout with the Cavs. If they're thinking of drafting him ahead of others , then they better not disclose that they're inviting him to train with the team. This is actually basic stuff

I think the rule is that both parents should be Asian citizens. Unless Jackie is not a Filipino citizen he should qualify.
 
Juan the player who needs game reps the most. He changed positions and is still trying to grasp making better ball decisions he needs more time at pg. The talent and body is there but he just makes bad choices

I guess its hard for him. All his life he always thought he was the man. Its a big leap from making yourself look good to making others look good.
