If he decides to play in Europe then he should try Serbia. They seem to be good with skilled bigs

That's sad news.. well according to Kai's official statement, he is still eyeing the 2021 or 2022 nba draft, question is what path is he going to take and what are the available options

I haven’t really been following the whole saga so can someone please explain why Kai decided to leave Ignite in the first place? Anyone with half a brain could see how stupid this was if he really wants to makes the NBA.

It should be in Europe or Australia and nothing else if he is really targeting the next year's draft. But what will happen to him between May and August? The season of European leagues and NBL follows the fiscal calendar (October-March/April).

officially he left ignite to play in the 2nd window of the FIBA Asia qualifiers. No idea on what is the legit reason why he went home and people has speculated that this has something to do with Kai slipping out of the 2021 mock drafts

I guess Kai's should play at the upcoming qualifiers vs Korea and Indonesia so atleast he could get SOME exposure at this point

That's a long lay off between now and October thats around 8 months. Im afraid he might take a break until then, or just go back home with Gilas

Dunno which camp is more dumb. Kobe's camp or Kai's camp. Kai's camp probably thought G_league will wait for him so it's okay to join Gilas because KAI IS A STAR LOL. For ********* sake he was already one step closer to his dream and he just let it slipped away like that. The heck were they thinking? lol

First was NCAA opportunity and then this? Oh my. Hope our next guy won't do anything stupid like these hyped Filipino ballers and really follow through.

We might see him play in the PBA Philippine Cup this April if he joins Gilas

He needs to play in the qualifiers and FIBA-Asia Cup if that's the case.

I say Kai's Camp. It's more Kobe's fault than his camp(leaving Creighton after his first year, "I'm going Pro") while Kai's camp messed it up for him. He was ALREADY with Ignite about to go in the G-League bubble. No need to do anything else nandoon na sya when they got a bright idea to go back to the Philippines to play with Gilas for a measly 3 games vs 15+ games for Ignite assuming they make the playoffs.

Sounds impossible and quite ridiculous but I see some possible path for Kai:

- Can Kai play in NZ NBL as an import or atleast DP? If yes, then he should play there since the league runs from March/April-July/August.

- After that he should join as DP in Australia NBL. I prefer this over the Euro stint since NBL runs between October-March which is much shorter than the calendar of European domestic leagues.

This is vague...

They worked for the exposure... Got the G league invite and blew it up....

Now parting ways with G-league... So someone is supposedly to buy his contract out of G-league?

IF Ateneo argues that technically, he hasn’t played 1 pro game yet, is it possible he ends up in the UAAP, instead of the PBA? Will his pride be able to take it?

Also, what’s going to happen to his Kaiju basketball academy in Ohio?

I think there is also a possibility that Kai will enter another developmental program like he did in Atlanta when he first came to the States, concentrate on improving his physical attributes (stamina, agility strength, etc). Based on Kai's interview with my girl Gretchen ho, Kai's confident with his skills and just want to get stronger. Maybe that's why he decided to go back to the States despite the qualifiers pushing through in Clark

Going back to the Phil to play for college ball would going 100 steps backward. What for? Theres not even an indication that the UAAP will resume yet.
