Filipino Players in Foreign Leagues

This I'm very confident that Kai has a solid chance of getting a NBA contract (whatever form) either this year or next . That in itself is history for a homegrown player.

Would be interesting to do some research on how many players have been signed to a NBA contract but have failed to play a single regular season game.
It may be automatic that a signed player at least gets to the court for a regular season game.

I believe this is from the same writer Brett (SI) who ranked Kai at 49th his most recent ratings have him dropping outside of drafted # 60

So 20 days from draft day Kai is not in any top 58 mocks for the top 10 reliable mocks (ESPN, Yahoo, SI etc).
Do not ignore the signs. Yes it's still possible though.

Kai is 60th in his rankings hmmm. From 51st.

His Mock draft will come out tomorrow.

His mlck draft and rankings are sligjtly different.

The list I accessed is dated June 3, but seems like it's still being edited on the fly, when 1st accessed it has Kaia minus 9 drop from 51 to 60th , looks like it's being edited

"Kai Soto" is still 51 in the list for me in the May 21 list
In the May 23 list he's 49

If a team uses a 2nd round pick on Kai, it's really a low risk, high reward gamble for them. Worst case scenario, you burn a 2nd round pick. No problem. Best case scenario, a marketable, 7'2 NBA caliber player who could be a good ambassador of the NBA to Asia.

While that's one way of looking at it (low risk) there is another angle why use a draft pick on him when the odds from indicators is he is unlikely to be drafted, so interested team that wants to avail of his services just waits for him to go undrafted before signing him as a FA. Obviously the above approach comes with risk of another opposing team might actually use a pick on Kai and as result interested team loses rights to avail of Kai services.
At the end of the day there is no right or wrong decision, just that there are levels of risk and reward that each team has to make decisions on..

Yeah. I saw it. But looks like removed for now.

Probably some editing is happening.

Kai was still 60th in that list. From 51st.

Anyway, it will be reposted anyway.

If the scenario where Kai will be undrafted and will be sought after as FA, what is the best contract he can get among the interested teams? 2-way, exhibit-10, etc., or is it also possible he gets offered a partially-guaranteed contract if he has lots of teams going for him as FA?

Nix of Ignite and Rockets is an example of undrafted player that started with a 2 way contract unguaranteed, but turned into a 4 year $6 m guaranteed contract. So there are ways..

KG Canaleta with his James Har_en defense. lols

He provides the instant offense, though, off-the-bench.

I think people should place more importance on workout invitations from the teams themselves rather than mock drafts. Mock drafts written by anlsts will put their top 100 players whom they think that teams will draft.....work-out invitations from the team themselves. will put their top 5-10 players that they like and may draft around 2 players.......for example, I will put a higher chance for Kai to be drafted by Knicks than the other 90 players in the mock draft that Knicks did not invite......the same goes for Lakers, Chicago, Orlando, Atlanta etc

Well the historical reality is workout invites has a very low indicator of accuracy in compared to actual draft results, while both the combine invites and mock drafts have very high accuracy as indicators
As an example Atlanta has workout more than 50 players , with almost none will be drafted

Only 3 centers worked out for Atlanta, including Kai. That's a 33% chance.

Apparently, D'Admiral is saying that workouts are a waste of time since none of them will get drafted. For example, he said that 50 players got a workout at Atlanta (is this real?) and none of them got drafted. So players who don't workout for Atlanta will have a higher chance of getting drafted by Atlanta Hawks.

Obvoiusly, Dave doesnt run out of negative comments about Kai's NBA journey. Im looking forward to Kai being drafted and Mang Marites would say that even if he is drafted, he wouldn't take long because he doesnt really belong in NBA.

^ This will be the next argument in case Kai gets drafted,
Not gonna last long in the League and will ride the bench till the last seconds of his contract.
