So the team workouts, if real, are for him to get an undrafted FA contract, not for a potential draft pick?

Some are, but of course not all, obviously those who were invited by the combines and teams are for draft prospects. Literally all combine invitees are invitees for workouts, ( it's just some opt to not accept invitation- e.g, like why would a top prospect like Jabari Smith accept a workout invite from the Lakers or a team not picking in the lottery)

I think that's possible. They need to make a move since their roster has the oldest players. BTW Sir, I feel you are really Paul Lee the PBA player. Who in their right mind would choose Paul Lee's picture as their avatar unless you are really a huge fan of his? hahaha
Lakers are planning to buy some draft picks. It is legal in the NBA to trade a player for cash.

Only 8 to 10 bigs were drafted each draft year. It is not a surprise that Kai wont get a lot of interest and also because he isnt US base. That 8 to 10 average for bigs is already about right with the 12 teams interested with Kai. If we based among current bigs, Kai is atleast 2nd or 3rd best in terms of potential and actual NBA readiness.

Kai only needs 1 slot from that 8 bigs each year. If Duren and kessler will be drafted, then it is really impossible that Kai wont make it. Duren is really to limited and Kessler is just too ordinary.

So if both Veranos parents are at least dual citizens it doesnt matter he got his later?

It depends where he was born, if he was born outside the Philippines he has to possess a Phil passport before 16.

Technically no when it comes to a player but there are ways around this. Like trading for the rights of a European player that will never make the NBA or a second round with too many protections such that it will almost never be sent to the team.

But when it comes to picks in an upcoming draft, yes you can pay.

Glad they're talking about lateral movement in that video. Kai has better lateral movement than most people think. This was really on display when Delly put him on an island and he managed to stifle the former NBA player.

here's an article from last year of players purposely telling teams not to draft them in the 2nd round when they are guaranteed to get a 2-way contract from a team of their choice. it's a gamble but it worked for austin reaves

Reaves signed with the Lakers on a two-way deal following the draft. Sources told The Athletic that Reaves turned down the ability to get drafted in order to pick his own spot after the draft. Ultimately, the Lakers were the most attractive option, and it’s easy to see why. Not only are they a contender, but they have a ton of open roster spots following the Russell Westbrook trade, and guys who enter the summer on a two-way are actually somewhat well-positioned to have a shot to make the roster due to luxury-tax concerns. I think my bold prediction is Reaves is on a full contract by midseason.

You earn less on a 2 way contract, but have freedom to choose where you will sign.

yep, if you read the article they'll earn about half a 2nd rd pick does and on a shorter contract. which also means you become a free agent earlier and will be able to sign a regular (big) contract than the drafted rookies if you're good. undrafted guys like alex caruso are already on their 3rd nba contract

isn't san-en being relegated to div 2? would've preferred thirdy to stay with a div 1 team.-

Not sure if they really got relegated, but either way, Thirdy is bound to stay with San-en, given that he signed a multi-year contract with them.

Maybe San-en can loan Thirdy to mid-table teams in the Div 1 for cash, much like FIFA

That's what I also thought. Kai in the little footage we've seen in his pro runs looks like a bonafide pro already. You know when pros play scrimmages or pro runs, they don't look hurried at all, like they have an extra gear? That's what Kai looks like to me, and it's very promising. That means the game has slowed down for Kai and this is a pro level run.

Just saw this picture. Pagpilitan niyo pa si Jay Huff guys. He will be happy to have ardent Pinoy fans. Also it's not 5/23.
