in terms of contract, i think its a win for kai. if he is indeed drafted next year, nba teams can definitely shoulder a year of salary instead of 2 years. if he is not drafted, he can just play for another year and just extend to 3 years

Normally some players have an NBA opt out agreement with the NBL team, Abercombrie and Webster had this with the breakers, essentially meant in case for a NBA call up. they can leave without a buy out.
why do players and teams agree to this? because the Player themselves negotiate that this should be a clause , it's like the play for Gilas clause

will have to check, in recent years Gabe Norwood tried to be classified as a local Asian, but becasue of dual citizenship (Amercian) he was classified as an import.. quite possible Remy will be similar to Gabe..

Kai would have a lot on his plate this year. My take that he will be a lottery pick is still very much alive. A year would really do wonders for Kai. His progress is exponential every year. A 20yr old Kai would be way better and NBA ready than his current self.

I would admit I was worried about his draft chances and if you would be correct that he will be automatically eligible this year. 2022 would be different and Im looking forward to proving Givony is wrong about Kai.

With regard to you, i have no beef and im just glad you were wrong. It is a good day to be Kai and Gilas fan today. A very pleasing scenario for both Kai and Gilas.

ANBL is a good league (talent wise) , additionally it uses purely fiba rules, so good for Gilas
the NBL is under the Basketball Australia ( the fiba federation) , so they're in sinch with the fiba calendear

Kai Sotto has switched from Aaron Goodwin to Joel Bell for his representation. Bell used to represent Michael Beasley, Mario Chalmers and currently handles De’Anthony Melton of the Memphis Grizzlies. Bell said he’d heard a lot of great feedback from NBA teams about Kai.

and if Kai is like any normal draftee , you actually want him to be mentioned in mock drafts for 2022..

one thing is sure , Kai is not classified as a Intenational draft prospect, cause if he was his automatic elgibility, is not until year of 22nd birthday

I was right all along that they been talking to teams and that is expected for agents. Also, it is a good thing that several teams were interested.

A lottery selection next year would be a homerun. A first round would be great and second round would be a bit disappointing. I like how Kai's schedule would progress this year. Fiba regional qualifiers would be a bit lesser than the OQT and NBL. I also dont expect the OQT to be really tough because NBA players would most likely sit it out.

I am pretty sure mock draft makers thought Kai is 2021 draft prospect

what's great for this NBL stint is that its a full season. ung sa gleague, its compressed. even if kai starts slow, he will have longer time to develop his game.

i was actually hoping that thirdy will play another season in japan to hone his skills, then maybe play in australia thru d new zealand connection of tab.
 
Good thing is kai will play for adelaide, yun team na tinalo nina Yeng, surely he will have playing time..
