Just noticed this now but did something happened to your account? I've had trouble logging in as of late too. I even had to take a 15 min timeout sometimes even though my account name and password is automatically filled out

Not really bro. Was out for a couple of days because i broke my phone. While I do have a backup phone, i wasnt sure about my password. Anyway, maybe they just changed the settings again

What is adelaide’s plan for kai’s development? With their current frontcourt rotation, feels like kai will be third stringer behind johnson and humphries.

he will have at least 15 mpg.. yudai baba avg. 20 mpg even with a loaded wing rotation

Kinda different when it comes to wings. Teams can play 3 wings at the same time. Anyway, for sure kai’s camp knows he will get playing time or he wont sign. Ideally i want to see him play 20 to 25 minutes per.

Im expecting a Yuda Baba = Kai Sotto chance in getting drafted comments here.lol

This is a great news to fan, Lamelo ball path to NBA. NBL is a very good league. Very physical and athletic and will help him develop. The players there are very good, almost NBA caliber, almost equal to Gleague. Let us pray for his success in NBL towards his NBA dream.

NBL does give u that European-style physicality (baka even more)

Baka pwde i-correct ni analyzed si Shams hehe

It's actually a question worth asking , what is the basis of 2022? one year removed from US high school graduation in 2021, annulment of US Ignite contract..
whatever it is, there should be a rationale ..
the rules are there, just need to see , how it works...

adelaide lacks bigs so it’s perfect for him to play with adelaide..

yudai baba open the doors for future asian players playing here in nbl. he’s playing good for melbourne

i thought it is for the next stars. now, im not expecting much. i think there is a rule in nbl that allows them to sign asian players without counting to the limit.

edit: though im not sure if he is still eligible on the next stars program thats why he signed a different contract. hoping still for him to carve a rotation role

Next star program are for those who are likely to be drafted in the next NBA draft ( yes they use mock drafts as an indication of draftability- RJ , Lamelo, Giddey are all in mock drafts)

the next star program contracted players are with the NBL not the team , (similar to Ignite- g-league) ,
the Asian import are sign ups directly with the franchise ( Adelaide)

i'm excited about this. He will surely develop fundamentally his skills and become stronger. Gleague is so much one on one system. But in NBL, i watch many games, and it is a very good league with excellent team system by many teams and very physical with allot of shooting and fastbreak. i think he will join the draft NBA then, and if he gets drafted in NBA, his nba team might allow him to stay with NBL for two years for development.

Good move by Kai camp Australian league produce a lot of NBA players and the competition there is really high, very excited for Kai.

Anyways bakit may tahimik yata analysis dyan kala ko ba automatically draft eligible si Kai this year? O well what's new parati Naman talaga siya Mali.

Indeed we're all excited! Kht un practices na lng, to have an opportunitu play w/ grown men (professionals) in scrimmages, after a year or two (hopefully no effing injuries) who knows how good he can be

I GUESS SIR.

Because It is said that it should "PLAYED UNDER A PRO TEAM"

and Kai doesn't even play a single second with Ignite

Just guessing. But the most likely

Asian development import ,

Special Restricted Player

What is this?

Overseas player from selected list of countries. Right now: China, Philippines, Taiwan, India, South Korea, Singapore and Japan.

How does it work?

These players are treated the same as a local player. Their contracts are not counted under the salary cap.

The special restricted player rule included "a select number of Asian countries that the NBL has selected as possible areas to market the NBL and bring more supporters in from outside of the Australian or New Zealand market. Those countries have changed slightly over time but are currently China, Philippines, Taiwan, India, South Korea, Singapore and Japan."

Up to this point, the exception has been rarely used. Tai Wesley and Earnest Ross, natives of Guam, have previously been on rosters under the rule, but due to the aforementioned changes, are now treated like imports.

We also saw the signing of Makoto Hiejima for the 2018/19 season, but the Japanese national team member played only one minute all season, in what was a failed experiment for the Brisbane Bullets.

There's also 19 year old Terry Li (Li Tian Rong), development player for the New Zealand Breakers, who is going into year two of a three-year deal with the New Zealand Breakers.

We've seen Amritpal Singh, the star big man of India's national program, play for the Sydney Kings in the 2017/18 season. After impressing in the NBL Next Gen Camp, Singh was picked up and played 127 minutes for the Kings.

Lastly, Melbourne United signed Japanese national Yudai Baba for the 2020-21 NBL Season. Baba has been signed as a Special Restricted Player and is classified as a local player on the Melbourne United roster.

It's good for Gilas, and the window availability , the ANBL does take madatory breaks during fiBa windows, and those windows are in the same zone Asia pacific

good find,, yup that's it..

This is just the start I'm very happy to see more and more homegrown talent going and playing abroad, I hope Kobe, JGDL, Ricci, and other young prospect like LeBron Lopez go straight abroad at wag sa PBA they won't reach their full potential bulok kasi liga na yan.

yes , maybe... the actually words is rendered services under the player agreement, at the end of the day , i do think Ignitie and EWP agreed on a compromise settlement .. basiclally annulment of contract... (just my guess)

the concept however that is established is draft eligibility (whatever year it is) means entered for selection, there is no need to declare for those who are authomatcially eligible.

Question only is when is Kai auutomatcially eligible ?

i see. this contract seems better as i see it now.they can control the team they want to play. as silent killer mentioned, not much bigs for adelaide. we just hope he does not run away again if his playing time does not go according to plan.

in terms of contract, i think its a win for kai. if he is indeed drafted next year, nba teams can definitely shoulder a year of salary instead of 2 years. if he is not drafted, he can just play for another year and just extend to 3 years

I will wait for Kai = Yudai Baba comment.haha

At least, we will see a lot of Kai games this year. If he would be great or decent on the fiba qualifiers and OQT, then most likely he will be decent with Adelaide.
