Filipino Players in Foreign Leagues

Philippine business and society is focused and limited to the Pinoy market .. that is why most business owned by Filipinos overseas are limited mostly to the Pinoy market. Very seldom do you see Philippine business targeting mainstream market . It's also true for conglomerates, they're mostly focused on local domination. (Of course there are exceptions)
This results in deep rooted problems, as an example if the goal is political control, then personalities will run family business to be the leaders of the country to keep control, and do all means to keep voted in, (regardless if that helps the citizens) it's a viscous cycle
Philippine basketball eco system and the way things are done is a microcosm of these things

Essentially governing Philippine basketball or the country should never be used for business gain .(period) or else all stakeholders and population suffer.

does Jonas Kazlauskas, China's coach from 2005–2008 count? China placed 8th in the Olympics, 9th in the 06 WC under his watch

Ok. Then why not continue and only one. Is there a issue of international coach guiding East Asian teams. Why we all think international coaches will bring us somewhere when it hasn't been done to other nation.

China in WC 2006 were 11th as 4 teams was technically tied in 9th spot. Loss in the rounds of 16

Basically No, and it's unlikely considering news of an invite would really help Kai's cause .
Also the number who confirmed who are in the bubble is significant already leaving few spots left unreported

The thing is without oligarch interest, Philippine basketball will not be where it is. The UAAP and PBA wouldn't be funded for one. So while I would also argue that self interest among the elites is the bane of PH basketball, I'd also have to give it that we are where we are because of them.

Lets just wait and see. Unlikely doesnt mean 100% not included already.

I understand Kai may not be in combine. But I will be surprised if he will not even receive a G league elite camp invite.

Anyway, in the even he isnt. At least, he can have team workouts.

But ofc, I still hope Kai gets an invite in either events.

Of course nothing is certain yet and nothing is impossible.

But one would really have to be ignoring the obvious signs that Kai is really not a serious top 80 draft prospect the signs and indicators are all there..
I get hoping for a miracle, but it really is a hail Mary at this point, if we are just honest with his chances.
Anyway will know soon. May 15 , then followed by June 23

True I accept that . It's really one advantage of Philippine basketball, unfortunately the same advantage is what limits us .
Will take a massive change in paradigm to progress, unfortunately I don't see it happening or even have a clue of how to.

Picture this we have a business political set up similar to Russia.. but while Russia has no issues with it's star football players playing overseas, we do. !
Imagine how bad that is from a global perspective and development

Yup, this starts in the UAAP and extends to the PBA. Probably all schools are guilty of this, at least the ones that develop worthy stars.

Reality really stinks, there will be alot of frowning faces with the youtube Kai vlogs.

Coach Allen said at the end of this video that he talked to his friends who have NBA connection they said that teams are looking to Kai will be draft kai late 1st round.

Coach Allen, same as mine predicted that he will be drafted mid 1st round. I think he will be drafted either 20th or 25th pick of Spurs.

So it is a battle of 2 camps...on one side, we have our IBN experts and mock drafts who are saying almost negligible chance of Kai getting to be drafted (basically a miracle)....on the other side, we have his agents and some seem-to-be credible you-tubers and some well-known people who are saying that Kai will be in the late 1st round or second round draftee......hmmm

The Spurs projected pick are no.20 a guard.no.25 is a center from France, maybe Kai's numbers better than that guy? He looks like a pests in midrange and putbacks https://youtu.be/LfeI2oT800c

Just like the confirmation of Kai being automatically eligible despite all the public statement on the contrary , I'm willing to wait for confirmation. The combine invite list will be released publicly in about a week, ( just like the early declare list and auto eligible list ). So let's wait.

Bell has already caught lieing 3 times (verified).

The combine invite (a vote of all teams), wil again verify if many teams will sign Kai. Let's see if this is another lie

100 is all consistent with this aggregated mock of the top 10 most established outlets that release mock drafts (ESpN, Bleacher, Yahoo , SI etc)
https://www.rookiescale.com/2022-consensus-board/
(Consensus above 150 mocks)
https://hoopshype.com/lists/live-ag...ual&utm_medium=trueAnthem&utm_source=facebook

Add to if confirmation is he was not invited to top 60 for Combine and g league (40), to be released next week .

We really have to be real and honest with the situation, Kai is really a long shot ..

wikipedia lists Kai Sotto under the International players category who could drop out 10 days before the draft. No sources cited so far. Editing for the page also locked for those with ip adress on the range of 180.190.0.0/16 (if you google it, location is Las Pinas wtf?)

^^
This link shows list of all automatically eligible entered (cannot withdraw)
And another list of early declare entrants (both US and international prospects, who can withdraw). Kai is not on list

https://www.rookiescale.com/2022-nba-draft-auto-eligible-prospects/

I've spoken to an agent who has clients on both list and yes if you're automatically eligible you cannot withdraw, but if you're entered for 1st time, you can be made available for 2nd time (2023) assuming no team drafts or signs you in 2022

It's possible Bell will announce Kai will withdraw after not receiving stroing nterest, but this again is all show (he won't be officially withdrawn from being available to be drafted), it's just means Kai will try focus on the 2023 draft where his chances might be better

Tbh, i’ll just wait and see regarding kai’s chances in the NBA.
Drafted or not, the important thing is that he’ll be serviceable in Gilas.
It’s already an achievement that his part of this year’s nba draft.
Big bonus if he gets drafted or signed by nba team.

Tired of this auto-eligible and mock drafts debate.
