it was a blessing in disguise actually for kai to have minutes this season.. if bairstow and humphries are healthy all throughout the season, kai will probably get less minutes.. 5-10..

Yeah, I was expecting that too. For all the talk CJ had about developing Kai he clearly wasn't as in on it as the previous coach was, the one who recruited him.

the current team was build via coach connor and not cj bruton.. and this is coach bruton’s first NBL coaching gig besides being assistant coach.. theirs a reason why bruton mentioned in the timeout that a 4’8 guy is outrebounding kai..

I also know this. The point is that CJ didn't walk the talk early on. Nobody here is denying Kai's 4 reb avg in the NBL.

Kiefer currently shooting 36.7 3pt fg for shiga.. not too long ago that is kief's weakness..

I hope we stop with the bad languages and learn to discern between so called talangka and those who are managing their expectations; or giving their observation based on the circumstances. Let's avoid going the rightist and leftist/ republican-democrat/ woke-conservative thinking. Alam nyo yun, its either you are with me or you are the enemy thinking. Wag ganun!

I agree. Can we appeal to the other members to tone down the language? We can argue naman without using foul language, name calling and personal attacks. This is not what Interbasket is all about.

"Well, I’m excited for him,” said the 63-year-old. “You know I can’t make any qualitative assessment of that. Kai and his people know much better what his standing is with the NBA teams. I’m sure they’ve been in touch with teams,” he continued, referring to East West Private.

“I believe a lot of big men, a lot of talented big men in that league and he held his own. He had a good season. I hope it’s the right decision. I can’t make any assessment as to whether it is or not.”

reddit consensus says that Kai has a chance in the league. the red flag though? it is the insufferable stans that repel any criticism given to kai. it may not entice teams looking to draft and stash kai. napatoxic kasi ng pinoy fans minsan. let's manage our expectations please, wag natin ioverhype ang kababayan natin. wag tayo toxic sa mga socmed and forums

I completely agree. It could have been a different story for Kai in the NBL had Adelaide’s main rotation bigs Isaac Humphries and Cam Bairstow would have been healthy all season long.

As for Kai’s chances in the NBA pre-draft, it all now boils to his agent if he could arrange a private workout for Kai and NBA GMs. It will surely help Kai also if he gets an invitation to the NBA Draft combine.

and when we compare it with BRP, kai's draft chances is quite higher. ganoon na lang ang mindset.

Yes.

Before Kai, Rayray was the closest to be drafted. He wasnt in top 100 mock draft. Yet, he is almost drafted of Sathnam Singh didnt exist.

Hopefully, Kai will not make it almost, but actually beat the odds

It’s how he performs in pre draft workouts.. hope for the best..

Also, i hope he avoids getting frustrated when the ball is not passed to him. He has the tendency to sag/ slouch when he is not getting his way; and it affects his overall game. It would be a pity if he does that, because Kai really is talented.

That's a lie. I've seen the thread on r/NBA and r/NBA_Draft and it's full of self-hating Pinoys and people who haven't watched Kai. Toxic ka diyan, both sides are toxic. Overhyping is one thing, downplaying is another. Ang problema kasi with the critics is that their opinion of the stans transfer over to the player, who has nothing to do with it. You all band together claiming overhype, yet you never acknowledge that some criticism you do borderlines slander and downplay.

The 7'3's in the e;ague are already bucket getters boban et al the only reason they arent in the game in dying minutes because theyre a liability on defense as long as kai retain his speed but add his lower body he can be more tolerable version of bobi and thats what we can hope for now or stash him with the right team (Adelaide imo is the right team for Kai for this moment outside syempre Gilas)

Exactly, especially since the PBA is unlikely to adjust to the FIBA calendar. Goddamn league set the opening to June 5, which is 1 month before the FIBA Asia Cup and 25 days before the FIBA WC window.

The more FIBA-eligible players for every position playing abroad, the better.

I think PBA is focusing on the SEA Games lol lol lol

Yeah! I hope he would still be a draft and stash. I still thinking he has loads of potential (hence the drafting now), but he still needs to be seasoned more without too much publicity that comes with playing in the nba if he played immediately (hence should finish his final contract year with adelaide). Also think this is beneficial to both parties.

Well I hope his handlers don't screw this up. Kai has a real chance to be the first local to play in the NBA. And please don't talk to Homer Sayson
