Kai has played over a dozen games, which one have you seen? Did kai look gassed up as he drill that dagger long 2 vs Melbourne? When was the last time he looked gassed up? Did he look gassed up after 4 minutes that Brutton didn't even bother to play him in the second half? Seriously, what's the basis in the assumption that Brutton wanted him to play more

I dont think any of those games. One of the games when he had a lot of minutes. I think he started the 4th. And I think they were already blown out. So it made sense that he finished the game. But he already had trouble running back on defense. His hands were on his waist all the time. And you could see he was already catching his breath.

2 years elapsed hardly getting PT is irrelevant from a draftability assessment if a player should get a by. It's still 2 years elapsed and still 2 years seasons practicing with pros. The expectation is still a player will improved from the benefit of training , which should reflect in the 300 minutes game film scouts use to asses s.
It's actually immaterial if Kai gets limited minutes or limited touches as any NBA scout worth their salt , can spot a quality player worth drafting using 300 minutes of film.

What matters is what Kai does with the minutes and possessions he gets however limited. There is sufficient sample minutes and possessions for a decent scouts to make an assessment.

Some of the best draft prospects like Sharpe , Primo , Griffin have very limited game exposure , yet are high draftable

The best and second best defensive centers in the NBL are from Melbourne. The third-best and fourth-best defensive bigs are from Sydney Kings. Those teams are currently the top teams in the NBL. As they say defense wins championships.

I don't think defensive rating should be taken as a stand alone basis. You can be a bad defender but still have your defensive rating looking good because you are in a very good team. Also, if you play for a deliberate, slow paced team, your defensive rating will most likely look good. Net rating, which is the difference between your offensive and defensive rating is somewhat something to look at , BUT, still, that's something that's heavily affected by who you often play with, and how good the team is overall. Player Efficiency Rating is the more reliable measurement tho, of course, still not the be all end all.

It makes me wonder how well Kai would perform if he played for a team like Sydney or Melbourne, and how much Ariel and Makur would suffer if they were in Adelaide. Even Zhou Qi, to me, is suffering from his team's inconsistency. For what it's worth, Kai is 14th in DRT among centers and 14th in TS among centers. I think that is pretty good for a 19-year-old in his first professional season. It would be interesting to see where Kai is in PER among NBL Centers and Rookies. I will compile the data later.

For me ah, long term, nbl is the best league for kai up to age 25 but we want kai to be the first homegrown nba player let just get on that achievement(kahit ten day o hardship contract) then hone his skills in nbl or bonus na lang if he can perform this play in regular competitive nba season di yun (tanking stage na ah since kai would score 20 if he played for okc or lakers earlier)...

A career and game-high 21 points, 3 rebounds for Kai. Stats and numbers matter especially when an NBA scout watches. Just one head-turning game that would probably make some scouts and sportswriters have second thoughts.
