Filipino Players in Foreign Leagues

It is nice to see that Kai can still be effective an an off ball player.

In TSF, he is the first option. So we expect him to have monster numbers.

In Adelaide though, he is either the 5th or 4th option.

The way Kai cut, rolls, lob finisher, and make himself available for a pass will be very valuable in the nba if he makes it.

Obv, Kai wll not be one of the main option. So he needs to work as an off ball player.

Some interesting stats, which kind of explains why CJ touches and minutes usage of Kai is limited ( efficiency goes down with increase usage )

Kai averages 2 turnovers per every assist he makes , (.65 assist avg/ 1.24 TO avg)

he also turnover the ball once for every 4 FG attempts . So the trust for Kai to get touches and handling the ball to create a play ( score or pass) is really low. the stats reflect it

the efficiency and errors goes up when Kai get's tired over 5 min stretch, it's the reason why Kai is kind of in a player minute cap of half the playing time ( 5 min per quarter or 20 min total game) ,

those are season stats (not 1 game) of over 20 games ( include 1 preseason game), actually it does not boost a player confidence if you leave him out there when he is no longer effective .. yes you want to give him minutes but only if it builds confidence , ( 20 min is really sufficient )

It is a testament to the weak coaching of CJ. He played small yesterday while sydney fielded cooks and Martin.

Sobrang sufficient na yung Melbourne game ni Kai and yung NZ breakout game as sample sets.haha limited minutes and yet super efficient and effective. Last game ng ADL against NZ na naman.hehe

Yung Dieng kahit anong leeway at screen nahahighlight yung deficiencies na subpar at inefficient.haha slow as sf kaya nga always may screen kasi di makacreate separation at yung dribble basic naman. Tsaka pagtumitira alam mu nang below 20's for an sf.haha bagsak niyan stretch 4 na maliit.haha yung diaw sobrang talino nun and skilled. Super reliable pa ang outside shot and malaki katawan.

Yung Jaylen Adams, Jarell Martin, then Xavier cooks wala siyang pantapat nilagay niya harris tska dj at kung sino pangguards closer niya.

Yung 5pt burst ni Kai wla namang makakapigil nun kaya nga always and one. Di lang talaga maexploit ni Cj.

What happened to the quality of the forum here wahaha

Kai has made strides but his body is just isn't there yet. Primary reason why his rebounding numbers are not where we want it to be yet. I think his overall strength is where he needs to focus on. Given the physicality of the NBL, he'd need that.

Maybe one more NBL season before thinking elsewhere.

Only 5 games left and a few months out from the draft and Kai still hasn't even broken into the top 60 of credible mock drafts let alone the top 100 rankings list.

If his ultimate goal is to be drafted in this years NBA draft, you have to consider his entire season so far for the Adelaide 36ers a failure.

Even with Adelaide's two best Centres not even playing, Kai still can't get 20 minutes of playing time. He was given opportunity as a starter, but was exposed and only put up 2 points.

Interesting that the delusional nutters on here still believe Kai is a lock to be drafted in the first round by the Spurs. You just can't make this stuff up. Kai dickriders never die.

I believe this isn't his goal. Just the development aspect of his game. It's still not where we want it to be yet but like I said in my last post, he has made strides. He has to be stronger still. Playing time is an issue but ADL has a stacked bigs lineup so that's that. Plus he's a rookie among big vets.

Staying one more year in the NBL will be his best move as I don't think he'll be playing in a higher level of competition next year. Listing himself in the NBA draft this year will be a mistake.

You have to factor volume usage, King has a good assist to TO ratio as his usage is really low compared to Besson. And as such Besson is considered to have a much better season compared to King usage includes touches and FGs (Kai just avg 4 attemps/game)

Also since the context is the draftability.. a 18 year old who's average stats are brought down due to a terrible 1st half of the season (12 games ). For NBA teams all that matters for Dieng is his 2nd half where he is averaging 15 pts a game and is highly efficient (100 % FG in 17 pts on 5 , theee pt shots today)
Interesting though that centers Ariel, Makur , Kai have very similar stats , (none of them are likely to be drafted), but it bolds well for Kai for the next NBL season, that his issues are normal and can be addressed. There all avg similar Mins, so no issue really

sorry for posting fake news, the SMB fan page already clarified that it is just an april fools joke, come to think of it, why would Japan want a undersized 4?, Manuel is just what, 6'3 at best. Plus he'll just be eaten alive by world imports. Further, there are no rumors about Japanese teams interest on Manuel.

Exaggerated PBA height of 6'5.

I wonder how many kilograms can Kai bench press and dead squat?

What's a dead squat? If you mean just plain old squat, probably his own weight, kinda dangerous for really tall people to free squat.I'll be impressed if he can even bench press his present weight, which just north of 230lbs.He doesn't need to be super strong,he's not gonna play in the NFL,the NBA is full of guys who can barely bench their own weight.A few guys like Lebron who played HS American football is a hardcore free weight user.

That scouting report was made by a blind bat. He should be out of a job. I'm not going to bother typing out everything wrong with that assessment, sa FT pa lang mali na.

DAdmiral, this is what I'm talking about. Hindi ko nilalahat, but a lot of mock draft scouts only look at the numbers and pretend they've scouted someone personally, like that report over there.

Everyone saying fair in the comments section is either just riding the bandwagon or don't watch Kai's games. What the fuck am I looking at lol.

Lol first parapraph pa lang. No mid range shot or three point shot. Of course, he is being pigeonholed to being a screener, drop pass receiver, and offensive rebound threat.

He is not trusted by his teammates. Sure. But when he's open and his teammates do not pass it to him, that says more about his teammates court awareness than Kai's trustworthiness.

Tapos can't create and no vision? How can he if he barely touches the ball lol. We've all seen in the past that Kai is a decent, if not above average passer.

parang sarili mo yata yung tinutukoy mo.. you literally said your biased to kai, so your eyes only see what it wants to see.

Kai lovers ruin this forum lol. They can't accept constructive criticism, they see it as hateful and anti filipino for some reason. And will resort to name calling and attacking other users.

Personalities aside these 3 pure centers
Ariel Hukporti
Kai Sotto
Makur Maker
Have striking very similar stats, around 15 min, 7pts avg and 5 rebs.
All 3 are unlikely to be drafted (2 months from now)
Both Maker and Kai are automatically eligible
Ariel can defer (but don't think he will)
It's really tough to be drafted for a center (only 12 % or 7 are drafted each year ), especially if you're avg just 7 and 5
